anyone seeing the Durant resemblances?

No. There's none whatsoever.

As for Ibaka... JaJuan Johnson is not athletic and explosive. For NBA standards, his athleticism is average. He has the athleticism you'd expect from a guy much bigger than him. That's why he dropped to the late 1st round in such a weak draft.

The best comparison for JaJuan Johnson is Josh Powell - which is pretty decent value for a 25th pick in this draft.

I'm not sure how you could hate on what Danny did here.  Granted it's possible that Brooks develops into a good NBA scorer and JJ does not amount to much - but think of it this way:

Celtics needed size, rebounding, and some offense off the bench.  They were projected to take someone like JJ at 25 anyways - so Danny winds up getting his man that fills his need, while picking up an extra 2nd round pick in the future.  It was a Belicheck move.

On its own I like the JJ pick; would have been happy with him at 25.  But to get an extra pick on top of that is even better.  The Celtics have a lot of picks in the next few drafts.  They can easily use these as assets in trades or to rebuild.  How do we know the Nets 2014 2nd round pick is gonna be worthless?

Danny gets a B+ from me on this draft; 2 solid, proven, elite college players that fit needs.  The only reason he doesnt get an A is that Farid was nearly there for the taking, and I have to believe there was something reasonable Danny could have done to move up to get him.  If the Nets only had to give up a 2014 2nd rounder to go from 27 to 25, what would it have cost Danny to go from 25 to 23 (if possible)?  I can't imagine much more.

I prefer Johnson to Faried and Brooks.

Can't understand the fascination with Faried. Is Reggie Evans that popular amongst NBA fans?

He's much more athletic than given credit for.  His skinny frame and somewhat gangly appearance belie the fact that JJJ can get up and down the court and off the court with the best of them.  His leaping and sprinting measurements at the  combine blew out any other big men in this year's draft.

DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

You are drastically underselling JaJuan's athleticism. He has one of the highest tested verticals for a big man in the history of the pre-draft camp measurements. He also has one of the fastest sprints for a big in the history of the camp.

...Huh? JaJuan tested better than most guards in the combine. His max vert was better than Avery Bradley's, who was considered one of the most athletic players in last year's draft.

He also tested surprisingly well with the bench press, managing 15 reps. There were a lot of players who did a lot worse than that and not too many others who did too much better.

People sway from him being as athletic as KG, to him being an unathletic ground pounder.

Many in all odds having never seen him play in a game. I love the internet.  :)

He did put up 15 reps in the bench press. . . Derrick Williams had the highest with 17. And i've read that he's put on 5 to 10 lbs. since his college season ended. Not worried at all.

5 - 10 lbs. isn't necessarily a good thing.  ;)

He definitely can grow into his frame more, and will need to to play in the NBA at the 4.

YouTube highlights are indeed the best way to judge any player on his game.

Absolutely. Why watch two hours of ball, or god forbid four years when we can compress that into a ten minute YouTube video?

Obviously you've never seen sportscenter. All players you don't see on a regular basis are consistently as good as their highlights. It's a proven fact.
