Chukwudiebere Maduabum!

I'm Nigerian. Its an Igbo name haha
What does it mean?  No white guy will ever be able to pronounce this name properly?

I mean can people even in Nigeria pronounce that?

I mean really.  I can pronounce Bellaluvachuite.   Abiye Aprekuma is pretty easy.  But this? I mean isn't there a limit of letters?  I mean what does this kid do when he fills out government forms?

Chukwu means God. So it has something to do with "Thank God", "God has blessed us", "God is gracious"

The twins born 7 minutes apart and drafted 7 minutes apart is probably the story of the night

This is the single most bizarre draft really ever.

Drafts used to be so simple.   So understandable. So rankable.

Nowadays it's more like....a geography bee.   Mixed with some anthropology.

And for the 53rd pick in the draft the lakers take Bcd;jkd;ajd  Ask;asked  of the Akikuy tribe of southeast Kenya.  Bcd;jkd;ajd  Ask;sake most recently played for the Kinsasha Mokele-mbembes of the south Congan league!

Do you get the feeling that somewhere is a very accomplished college ball player saying "I don't believe this!"

Who are these guy's agents?  Who represents that guy?

agreed.

Raise your hand if you're surprised Danny Ainge drafted a combo guard... All of you with your hands raised are liars.

When people say combo guard, they often mean a shooting guard brain in a point guard body, a player without a real position.  Moore seems more like a legitimate shooting guard, maybe smaller than ideal at 6'4" (the same height as Dwayne Wade), but a plausible shooting guard size nonetheless.

I tend to see Moore as a shooting guard who could fit into a system as a three-and-D role player, but who has the versatility to possibly take back-up point guard minutes.  That's very different sort of creature from the 6'1" or 6'2" Allen Iverson wannabe who you often see drafted and plugged into some sort of combo guard role.

We should probably be prepared for some Gary Neal comparisons when people start talking about how Moore might make an impact.

Well if said college player has is just as unlikely to make the NBA , he can at least try through camp invites.

Players drafted from the Congo: 2.
Players drafted from North Carolina: 0.

Pretty cool.

Ater Majok is the best player to ever be drafted in the NBA having averaged 2.8ppg in the Australian League the previous season.

Biyombo and Ngombo? I think they're from different Congos. Biyombo is from the Democratic Republic of the Congo while I think Ngombo is Ibaka's countryman, from the Republic of Congo (or Congo-Brazaville).

Do you know why teams pick these guys? Because they can keep their rights even if they don't sign them this season. While college players will either demand a contract or a release to go to some other team training camp.

So essentially not only in American NBA talent over fished - the whole world is over fished

My eyes.  Watched both in person play at their respective colleges for 4 years.

And in those 4 years what did Brooks accomplish at PC?  He never made his teammates or his team better.  There are a lot of reasons for that of course, but you can't say he did anything special besides score a lot of points.

JJ, on the other hand, broke the school record for victories during his tenure with Morris.  Even in the Big 10, that has to count for something.

Marc Stein reporting that Houston are trying to trade J.Flynn already. One day after acquiring him.

So they traded the pick mainly to dump Brad Miller more than to acquire Flynn.

It sounds like Motiejunas was their priority.

In Motiejunas, they see some of Nowitzki’s size, athleticism and offensive skills. That’s a huge projection, a huge leap. Motiejunas is far from a finished product, but so was Nowitzki when he entered the league.

“He has a really high upside, a lot of potential,” Morey said.

“We’re a team trying to re-establish our foundation,” Morey said. “We think Motiejunas is a lottery-type talent.”

Yeah move down to get your guy (and #38) and send the future first so they'll take Miller off their hands. Then Flynn can be repackaged if possible.

I hate to say it but we probably could've used Brad Miller.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I'm not really buying that for a few reasons. One is that you see teams with positions of need drafting these guys. That's just silly. If you need help now then rather than throw away the pick you can take a player that has actually accomplished something.

Also why do they have to draft the Australian guy that averaged 2.8 points? I mean can't there be an Australian guy that averaged 17 points? Can't you draft that guy?

Apparently his injury issues are so bad they anticipate insurance potentially covering a portion of his contract.
