Much like the Gasol rumors, this is way too rich for just the #2 pick.

Someone (I think it was Bill Simmons) tweeted over the weekend that everyone was afraid with talking to Minnesota because they leak EVERYTHING, and I have a feeling this is yet another case of Minnesota leaking what THEY want to try to drive up prices, when in reality, that deal would never be considered by Milwaukee, unless someone like Love or Rubio was also going their way.

I don't put anything past Milwaukee after they lavished big deals upon Salmons and Gooden, and traded for Maggette's bloated deals.  Their front office doesn't strike me as particularly astute.

I think DC will end up with this pick.

The holdup, how long till Min agrees to take Blatche as well.

I read a report, forget where, earlier this morning that claimed that Milwaukee initiated these trade discussions with Minnesota for the #2 pick ... largely because they were concerned about Bogut's long term health and hence where considering parting ways with him.

That report in addition to Chad Ford's report of Minnesota's reluctance to initiate trade talks and preference to invite other teams to come to them with trade ideas over the #2 pick (to avoid looking like they want to get rid of it) ...

Makes it look like Milwaukee did in fact open these trade discussions.

And most likely were asking for more then just the 2nd pick.  I imagine some future picks were wanted as well.

That is very much possible.  But it doesn't mean Milwaukee offered Bogut and #10 for #2.

I think it is much more likely that was Minnesota's counter.

Probably so, because my guess it that if Milwaukee made that offer, Minnesota would have taken it by now.

I don't disagree with you Roy, but it's funny how a year will change the narrative. Last year, it seemed like everyone was singing the Bucks' praise.

I think its a combination of some overrated moves last year, and then some terrible moves that made it seem like they honestly thought they were a contender.

It's the gift and curse of Scott Skiles.  He can get mediocre teams to overexceed expectations, but as soon as a little overconfidence (or new personalities) enter into the equation, suddenly they can fall just as quickly.

A lot of people liked Milwaukee's moves for whatever reason, but they never made sense to me.  I thought it was terrible decision-making.  Milwaukee should have continued to slowly add pieces that fit their core, rather than adding a bunch of mediocre, overpaid players.

Its the whole idea that you can add a player with on attribute to a team, and even though you expect him to play 20-30 minutes his downsides won't hurt the team.

The Bucks couldn't score last year, so adding Maggette surely will help fix their offense...... not so much clearly.

The Drew Gooden deal still boggles my mind, he's disappointed everywhere he's gone.

Bogut is a monster ; Minnesota should definitely do this if it's on the table
