Described as a "questionable rumor:" Bogut and the #10 pick for the #2, with additional parts to make the numbers work.

I like it for the Wolves. A Love-Bogut frontline sounds pretty solid to me.

P.S. Not sure why MIL does this, though. Unless they take Kanter at #2, they'd have a gigantic hole at C after the deal.

Bogut is a very nice addition in exchange for the #2 pick ... if he can get and stay healthy.

I am surprised Milwaukee is considering parting with Bogut. So important to their defense + rebounding. Skiles rates him so highly. They must be in love with someone (D.Williams or E.Kanter) to consider this ... assuming the rumour is accurate.

If the rumour is somewhat on the mark, I doubt Milwaukee includes their #10 pick. Keep that, draft A.Burks and bring in D.Williams. Nice perimeter trio to build around with B.Jennings. Add a few bigs and off they go. It could be interesting.

wow this is ridiculous, why in the world would mil do that?

Bogut is a top 10 big man in the league imo. It would make no sense for mil

agreed, horrible trade for MIL.  also, not too sure they need a ton of additional parts to make the numbers work, MIN only has like 42$ on the books for next year + whatever Rubio is making.....

FWIW, Pekovic and Flynn for Bogut works in the Trade Machine. Minnesota has to send something Milwaukee's way; they can't simply absorb Bogut's contract outright. Bucks would have a decent young C and a legit backup to Jennings, plus the #2.

Maybe MIL keeps the #10 as well? That makes a little more sense.

Again though, such a move would signify that the Bucks a) really want someone at #2 (Williams?), and b) are prepared to move on from Bogut. It would be a real surprise to see something like this happen.

I am thinking that Minnesota approached Milwaukee and just floated this idea there.

And most likely, it didn't get much traction.

Quite likely.

Minnesota is definitely working the phones to gauge interest in #2.

Although, there was some other report, Chad Ford's recent chat I think, that said Minnesota were not initiating trade talks. That they were sitting back and letting teams call them. Playing it cool rather than looking over anxious to move the pick.

Hoping a trade comes along ... they've been playing it cool. Not initiating any trade talk. Keeping up the public face that they're keeping the pick. But I think they'll move it if they get the right pieces. They have a lot of interest in the Lakers' Pau Gasol. Also might bite if Wizards offer JaVale McGee. They want long, athletic players to run the floor with Rubio.

Chad Ford is well informed come draft time. Lots of good connections.

So maybe not ... maybe Milwaukee brought it up.

It has to. Those salaries are still in effect until July 1.

Well, Javale McGee's name came up recently, linked to the #2, and Washington denied they initiated any talks involving him.

A lot of smoke and disinformation this time of year.

Agreed this is a good move for Minny if it happens, and you could sort of see Milwaukee talking themselves into making a change considering how much money they gave to bums like Salmons, Maguette, and Gooden.  They can't exactly stand pat and expect to get any better.

@ Lucky- so does Curry's contract not come off for Minnesota until July 1?

If so, TP for you, -1 million for me.  I thought deals expired @ conclusion of finals, but have a feeling you are going to confirm it is really 7/1.

I definitely agree that it sounds like a runaway for Minny.  Milwaukee shouldn't even have to include the #10 and it'd still be a good deal for Minny.

But from Milwaukee's standpoint, maybe I can see it...

It's difficult to find centers in this league, but Bogut isn't exactly a discount at his current contract.  He's making 12, 13, and 14 mil over the next 3 seasons.  This is for a guy who has missed 13+ games over the last 3 seasons and I think is really becoming injury prone.  Over those next 3 seasons, they have 3 additional bad contracts that will likely prohibit them from making any impact signings and not enough assets to acquire an impact player form a trade.  So, there's really no way for anybody to expect them to contend over that 3 year span.  If they play it fiscally wise and draft well until then, Bogut's going to be 30, questionable regarding health, and looking for a new long term contract, which could end up being a disaster.

In light of that, I can see why Milwaukee would be interested in trading him right now for Derrick Williams/Enes Kanter.  Then, veteran players like John Salmons, Delfino, and Maggette could be of interest to contending teams at the trading deadline which could bring back some additional draft picks.  Even furthermore(!!), this lack of talent could lead them to a high pick in the '12 draft and suddenly Milwaukee might have a decent young core coming together...

• Multiple sources say the Wolves and Milwaukee Bucks have talked about a trade, with the main pieces being No. 2 for No. 10 and center Andrew Bogut. It's believed Milwaukee initiated those talks, probably because there is some uncertainty about Bogut's long-term health. He broke his right hand, dislocated his elbow and sprained his wrist in a nasty fall in April 2010 against Phoenix. "It's OK so far,'' Bogut told a newspaper in his native Australia last week after undergoing arthoscopic surgery on his elbow. ''But it's still hard to tell. I'm starting with a lighter load than usual because the next season is so far away. I will build it up from here. The real questions will be answered after I've been through four or five weeks of training.'' Bogut also reportedly suffers from chronic migraine headaches. He has three years and $39 million left on his contract -- a hefty load with so many questions surrounding a presumed new salary cap with a fresh collective bargaining agreement.

If Kahn could pull this off I might actually have to say something nice about him, unless Bogut is severely limited because of long term problems from that elbow injury.

Still, last year he was a 13/11/2.6 blocks guy and would be a great defensive center to stick alongside the defensively weak Love.
