2 players you can talk to Cavs about now: Ramon Sessions & JJ Hickson. Andy Varejao not available for just a draft pick.

If true, I think Hickson would be a perfect replacement for BBD. He can fly up and down the court and along with Green would make a terrific running trio with Rondo.

He could definitely give the c's the athleticism and youth they are looking for off the bench.

Would cle be interested in a #25 pick and BBD S+T for Hickson and cle 2nd rd pick?? or Avery Bradley for Hickson ?

Cleveland is looking to trade him for either an impact player, or to move up in the draft.  C's are not going to be in on this.

Hickson will command multiple draft picks, including the 2012 pick from the Clippers.

Double no.

I hate the way this guy plays / shows complete lack of any basketball IQ, and I think someone is going to really overpay for him.

"Andy Varejao not available for just a draft pick" is an interesting comment. If he was available for just a draft pick that would be somewhat close to a salary dump. he might still be available at a somewhat higher price. Unless, of course, he meant "AV isn't getting traded for a draft pick, even a top 5 pick".

Impact player seems a little strong. What makes them think they are getting an impact player? He hasn't done anything with a strong team and didn't do much with a weak team. Sure he's shown a couple flashes but I don't think they are getting anything that great for him

I think you are looking at this the wrong way.  It is not that they think they can get an impact player.  It is that they are only willing to trade their talented young PF, if they are getting an impact player in return.

This is not a case where they are trying to dump the guy.  They are just saying he isn't untouchable if someone wants to talk about a bigger deal.

Davis and Clips pick for JJ Hickson seems fair to me. BBD brings some sort of championship exp to the team, Varejao plays C and they trade one of their picks for another impact player after drafting Irving or other.

Jeff Green goes back to SF, Pierce and KG come off the bench with Rondo,Ray,Green,Hickson and JO/Dalembert starting.
Draft Marshon Brooks
Can't stop, Rondo!

I'm not willing to trade that clippers pick unless it's for an impact player. To me Hickson would be great off the bench , but he will likely never even sniff an all-star appearance . Next years draft is supposed to be the deepest in years ,the clippers pick will likely be 11-15 range

I think a late lottery pick is about all JJ Hickson is worth. Or a mid first round pick + a future late first rounder. I think the Clippers is enough to get it done.

Hickson's disappointing development over the past two years has lowered his value from where it once was.

It's not even guaranteed we get that pick next year. If the lottery puts it in the top 10 it's not ours. I have no problem dealing it away to get someone like hickson

Depending on the Cav's definition of "impact player" the C's could still be in play. The Cavs are both young and old and could will be even younger with their 2 1st rd picks. They need an infusion of veteran leadership that can stay on the floor, otherwise they will end up like last season's T-Wolves--plenty of talent, no direction on the floor--I don't know if BBD is that guy, but he very well could be. And I think if a sign and trade scenario is possible with the new CBA, they would be looking at similar contracts and it could be done straight up.

I don't believe that Hickson would ever start over KG. I like the trade concept but it appears extremely unrealistic that we would get Cleveland to accept Glen Davis and a #25 pick for Hickson.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

He said the Clippers pick we have going forward, not our pick in this draft.

Well, I think their real goal is to use him to move up from #4 to #2...and I think he is just about right for that.  He would be a nice fit in Minnesota, and that allows Cleveland to get the guy they really want with that second pick.
