They have quite a few centers and they could do with a solid backup power forward. Maybe throw in Carlos Arroyo since they are getting rid of Andre Miller? Throw in some cash? Maybe?

Maybe if we throw in Green, Bradley, and a future first?
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
The problem with getting Oden is that he still has extreme potential. Give him a couple of more years and he may be more in the Darko/Kwame mold. I would love to see the guy suddenly stay healthy and dominate, but it seems like a bit of a gamble right now and Portland won't just trade him for a back up pf (even though Baby will probably prove to be a more NBA player).

...and I always say this, but geez, imagine a healthy Oden and Roy. Portland has had it rough, even with (what I think is) good decision making on draft picks and a nice slow ascent into the next echelon.

bfrombleacher, I'm curious which of the following you agree with most:

-Greg Oden is washed up, has almost no value, and Portland is looking to dump him.

or

-Glen Davis is highly sought after by other teams.

or both?

Exactly, me either.  I just asked b/c I don't see how someon can think that Baby for Oden is even possible.

We just learned that Oden is out until January now.  Sad news for him :(

Green for Oden might make it a little more interesting - but we'd be desperate for a wing this off-season and we wouldn't know if the Center we picked up will even be available.

Oden probably isn't a good gamble for us at this point
