If we cant afford Perkins at 7 or 8 mil a year we definitely cant afford Kaman at 12.7.

Kaman has no salary/payroll/cap implications beyond next season.

We couldnt afford Perk because it would have been a multi-year deal ruining our cap flexibility.  Kaman expires next season along with KG and Ray so we could let him walk and get all that money off the books or re-sign him for less money

The difference is, Kaman comes off the books after next year.  If Perk would have resigned to a 1 year, $12.7 million deal, he would still be here.
