Not an OLB. Not a DE. Are you ready for this. Plaxico Burress. I have just gotten around to the idea, after seeing him interviewed recently.

He is exactly what the Offense needs. It's a low risk and an extremely high reward gamble. And we all know that if he's a punk he's gone, no harm no foul.

It could be Randy Moss all over again for two years. He's the only thing that the offense is lacking right now. He's 6'5" 215 right now fifteen pounds under his playing weight, (which I think is great) You won't find  another guy that Big, that fast, that athletic, in the game outside Calvin Johnson.

He's the reason we lost the Superbowl, a physical mismatch against are then midget cornerbacks. Think about in the redzone with Grodkowski, Hernandez, Welker, Plaxico and any one of the RB's and pick your poison.

Mike Vick has turned it around and I think Plax is going to follow the same path, and what a blessing if the Pats were willing to give him that chance.

In the playoffs you need that big time reciever, we didn't have that over the last couple of years. Welker's great  but he's not that guy that you can throw it up to when you need a big play. Say what you want about Plax but he shows up for the big games.

We win the Superbowl this year if we get Plaxico, he'd make that kind of diffence two years out of jail, that's how talented he is.

The Pats need there own defenders to develop, that will put them over the top. Since they are very near the top right now they don't need anything big or risky to help put them over. They were 14-2 last year. Don't take the risk on Plax, let Tate, Edelman, Price, the Tight Ends and young running backs develop and the offense will lead the league in points once again.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

He could help the Pats, but I wouldn't expect him to put the team over the top.  At best, it is likely he will give the Pats a redzone target.

I wouldn't mind him back on the Giants as the 3rd or 4th WR.  If he plays well enough to supplant one of the starters, it is a bonus.

I doubt I see him in a Giants uniform.

But the team that signs him can not sign him expecting him to be the number 1 WR.

The guy has been in jail for quite some time.  Not sure how much you can expect from him right off the bat.  Physically, he's not going to be there and he's already on the wrong side of 30.

The Pats seemed to get away from the big-play WR mentality when they cut loose Moss and went more spread'em during the 2010 season.  I don't really see them reverting back to the big-play WR type when their revamped offense was quite effective.

But he can help any team as the Red Zone target.  As long as he can jump, he will win more then 50% of the jump balls.

The million dollar question is can he still do that after being out of the game for 2 years and being in jail where you're not exactly affordable the luxury to stay in "game shape"?  Big question mark.

Its not like the Pats were exactly struggling to score last season, either.

No thanks

Yes, to the far left.

I'll have to think about the Modell's sneakers too, those are pretty competitive prices.
