We need a big. No bigs available. Trade the pick. I feel like picking Jackson doesnt help us at all. It gives us two third string back up PGs that wont crack the rotation next year, and dont look to promising for the future either.

I wouldnt be that far down on him.  His numbers are incredibly similar to Delonte West's in college

Delonte last year at st Joe's

18.9 ppg     51% fg       5.4 rpg        4.7 apg      41% 3pt

Reggies last year at BC

18.2 ppg    50%fg        4.3  rpg        4.5 apg      42% 3pt

Except Reggis is much longer and a better Athlete
Yeah and Delonte got a lot of open shots off of Jameer penetration. Reggie did not get much help from his teammates.

If he can give us minutes at the SG position then I really like this pick a lot more

I'd much rather take a big-man project as I don't think anyone in this draft is going to be helping a contender next year.  Donatas Motiejunas, Jeremy Tyler or Nikola Mirotic would be the type of player I'm talking about (and that could realistically still be there for the C's).  I think I might even go with Singler from Duke (who at 6'8" has nice size and is a true SF) over another small combo-type guard (even one with a gigantic wingspan).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Yes on Singler. A lot of people thinks he's no good but he can be a solid backup. Although he's not athletic, he's hard nosed, can play physical and can make shots. He has good size too to play SF.

I love Singler.  I think he is as close to a lock as you will find at that point in the draft of a guy who will play in the league.

I think he has the ability to step in almost immediately, and be a roleplayer.

Given the C's lack of young talent, I would prefer they took more of a chance with their pick, but if they did decide to buy another pick (particularly a high second rounder), I would love to see them pick up Singler.

Exactly, this kid is NBA ready. He will be one one of those Dukies who were big in college but not in the NBA, but he'll be a solid 10-15 minute guy who will knock down shots if left open and be committed on the defensive end. Hope he lands in the C's.

nothing against Jackson but I dont believe a word that comes out of anyones mouth when it comes to sources about the Celtics draft plans.  Danny loves screw around with everyones head so he can put himself into position to try and get the real player hes targeting.

I wouldn't hate this pick, if he's at least closer to a Rondo find than a Giddens. I do wonder what it would mean for West and Bradley, surely we wouldn't keep all 3?

Also seems to be magnified from the original article. It just sounds like the Celtics like him, and 3 people down the line that turns into "won't fall past"...

Danny used to love to use Chad Ford to do this.  I know they have had a good relationship, and over the years, he has fed Ford a lot of good information, but you can always tell that he tells him what he wants out there.

It looks like Reggie is sinking like a stone because of his injury. Hopefully we can buy an early second and grab him with that.

What's this according to?

The only avenue I've seen him falling in are the Mock Drafts.  I still don't believe the C's take him, even if he's there, not in the first at least.  I like the idea of getting an early second and taking him if he's still on the board.

Yeah it's according to various mock drafts.
DraftExpress: 31 to Miami (I hope this doesn't happen)
NbaDraft.net: 40 to Milwaukee
Espn.com: 27 to Nets
Si.com: 25 to Celtics

Originally some outlets were reporting he could go as high as mid teens.
