With all the indecisiveness about who to draft, should Danny Ainge try to get another first round pick? It is a weak draft, but having Jeremy Tyler and JaJuan Johnson would be nice.

In this draft...no way. They have one last year to do this. Better to have a productive vet on the bench than a developing rook.

I think it would even be an option to trade out of this draft for a late first rounder in 2012.

At the rate we're going Danny should stick to the 2nd rounders

Very hard draft to predict. Can see him moving up in the 2nd round. Danny likes to gamble and I can see him trying to grab someone who slips into the second round so he can keep his options open with a non-guaranteed contract. Roster Space not a problem when you aren't carrying a bunch of injured old guys on the the Roster! No Shaq and hopefully no Murphy.

If JO starts at Center Rondo is the only youngish player. If you bring D West back he is a Vet. Green is an established player. Should be room for some prospects.

Not worth BBD, who I believe is the only available exchange chip for a pick.

Lets just hope Danny finds a gem in the second round (Jon Leuer i hope).

I'd love him to pick up-- read buy-- two first rounders and take two home run swings with the Brazilian kid and Jeremy Tyler while also picking Marshon Brooks. I've looked at the free agent bigs, we're pretty well doinked there and the only way we solve the center problem is to get lucky in the draft, might as well increase the odds.

Baby's not even a chip, he's a free agent.

Bradley: jury still out
Giddens: bust

Only other pick before that was Rondo...what rate are you talking about?

Wouldn't they just draft a player and then sign Baby in free agency?

yeah that is much better. which is why it's not worth grabbing another pick at the expense of BBD (assuming he is signed). C's just stick with one 1st rounder.

NBA free agency doesn't start until after the draft so trading Baby in a sign and trade for a draft pick is impossible unless agreed upon before the draft and that's impossible given the lockout will occur before free agency and no free agent's agent would commit to that not knowing what they could be agreeing to without a CBA in place.

I would to keep Reggie Jackson away from the Heat. Celtics most definitely wll use #25 to pick a PF/C. And that would mean Reggie Jackson is still on the board (according to most mock drafts). The next team that has a need for a PG is Miami. My worst nightmare comes to fruition. Because I have a sneaking suspicion if the Celtics didn't have a dire need upfront, they would draft Reggie Jackson albeit he is available @25.
