Wouldn't hurt.  But if Green and West are back, he's not really a huge need.

You could do a lot worse than him for the vet i think, even if he plays 40 games. However, dude might focus on an acting career and starring in unbreakable 2 as mr. glass.

Haven't the past few seasons shown us that it's nice to have a third-string option at various positions that don't make you cringe?  On the other hand, it's a concern if you bring in a player who will rival Jermaine O'Neal and Delonte West in the prediction contest for most games missed.

I think we owe it to him to give him another shot if he really is healthy enough and is not risking long term injury.

given the injury prone of Delonte, it cant hurt having Marquis...he knows our system and was pretty effective off the bench until he got injured..

yes - at the very least he's a much better option than Jeff Green

Duh its a no brainer. Danny and doc will bring him back for sure good wing defender and he's underrated @ the offensive end... with marquis @ the SG and green @ SF we have a good low post game off the bench we just need some lights out shooters to compliment them maybe quisy runs the pg and ray @ sg

a bench of

Delonte west, Marquis daniels, Jeff Green, BBD(or some other 4) and MLE 5 is a pretty good 2nd unit

Would make for a great story. But two things remain:

1. His spine condition has not improved.

2. He hasn't appeared in more than 55 games in a single season since 2007-08, when he appeared in a career-high 74.

I'm fine with him at the minimum, but Ainge would need to sign additional players as insurance in case of injury.

That's a good way to look at it.  The bigger question for me is how will Green be utilized next season.  If as I hope he spends more time at SF rather than PF, then the need for Daniels should be less.

Loose Cannon, you make two good points. Depth at the 3 has been a problem since Posey left, but Quis is an injury waiting to happen. Boston could do worse, but I don't know that they should snap him up without looking at other options first.

Marquis can help us at THREE posistions and seems to be the sort of guy who doesn't need minutes to pump his ego.  Boston could use him at a price.  I think he needs to go to whomever is going to pay him the most $$$.  His career isn't going to last much longer and I think a lot of teams are going to shy away from someone with this type of injury.
I feel danny needs to get young hard working athletic filler guys instead of injury prone older fellows.

Celts will do exactly what they did last year and that is wait out the market and let it determine Quis' value. It's likely he's a vet. mini, and not a biannual candidate due his health issues ... past and present.

With that in mind, and D. West likely being resigned, it's hard to imagine they would take a chance on Quis unless the cupboard is totally empty. That ship has probably sailed. They may be able to find a more durable wing (like Sasha) in the market.
