To me it would be someone like Andrew Bogut or Greg Oden. A big man who has underperformed (read: been injured or in bad conditions) so far, who would grow immensely on a team where defense is preached, and with a point guard like Rondo.

Sounds like Al Jefferson to me.  I'll dream on that for a while.  :)

My ideal scenario is still a trade of Rondo and filler (Davis, JO, whatever) for Chris Paul and Okafor.

I'll roll the dice to try to resign Paul (as I think they will make it very beneficial for him to resign on the new CBA), and that puts us right back near the top of list of favorites for the championship next year.

Bingo!

Bogut and Oden are both phenomenal defensively. AJ not so much

Since we have no other great options at center, Okafor would be a good fit.  That's the trade I'd like to do, as well.

I really like Okafor.  The only downside is that it makes it tough to go after a guy like Howard (which is more than a longshot anyways), and puts the C's at the top of the lottery for a while if Paul walks.  But, it is worth the risk for me.

Paul, Ray, Pierce, KG, Okafor is the best starting lineup in the league.

That would be an awesome starting 5.   If we had Okafor in our back pocket I would think about aggressively pursuing a risky guy like Greg Oden.  An Okafor/Oden tandem at C if healthy would be really nice.

J.R. Smith. My dream 6th man for this team

Who knows, maybe it's not unfeasible. He could take the MLE but he knows he knows he's worth probably around 8-9 mill a year. That would be rad if he took a discount to play on a championship caliber team but it probably won't happen.

When did JR Smith become so overrated? No way in hell is he worth more then the MLE. 8 or 9 Mill per? You can't be serious. He's a inconsistent one dimensional low percentage shooting no defense playing immature cancerous dumb dumb. You don't give 8 mill to one dimensional scorers who can't crack 18 ppg and are non-starters. The guy barely cracked 20 minutes in the play-offs.

In this league, players deals are based on other players deals. If Corey Maggette gets 10 mill a season then JR Smith knows he can get about that. Not saying i agree that hes worth that, A matter a fact i'd never over pay for the guy. I think there were alot of problems between he and the denver coaching staff which could explain his debilitating performance and minutes at stretches. But i've seen games where JR goes for 35 easily, shooting something like 8-8 from three land-exactly what i saw what the celtics were missing in the 4th quarter against the heat in those last couple games
