 For the Wolves they don't believe in Williams, they buy into the fact he's immature and don't want that kind of risk.

 It also gives them a lineup that looks like this.

 Kevin Love, Mike Beasley, Wes Johnson, Ray Allen, Ricky Rubio

 With Johnny Flynn, Anthony Rudolph, Darko, and Luke Ridnour

 That's a really nice looking nine man rotation. They also get a first class veteran in Ray, with two years left on his deal that sets a great example, instead of another young cocky kid which they have way to many of. 

 They also could get rid of ten million of salary to garbage contracts which we take on, easy to do when you see all the guys making 4 million on their team.

 Further, The Twolves have a glaring whole at the two guard.

 Ray could really spread the floor along with Beasley, throw in the next Matrix in Wes Johnson, and The new fundamentals Kevin Love, and the three headed monster of Rubio, Luke Rid, and Flynn and that's fun to watch.
  Example trade is Ray for M Webster, Pekovic, and Wayne ellington.

 This is a great fit for Williams. The kid needs leadership and the Celts have just what the Doctor ordered. Pun intended.

 KG, Pierce, Rondo, Along with Doc, would be a perfect place to groom this star in the making.

 It's a dream scenario for the aging KG, and we could lessen and lessen Kevin's minutes while grooming this kid who in my mind is a future All Star in this leauge, provided he ends up with the right team and the right coach.

 That team is the Celts,and that coach is Doc. It's exactly what this team needs, to get younger and more athletic in a heartbeat. It gives us KG's eventual replacement as well as a foundation of Rondo, Jeff Green, and Williams. Blend that with Garnett, Pierce, Delonte, J Oneal, And I believe it gives us a better chance at winning one more now.
   
 I think Delonte could handle the two fairly well, maybe Jeff Green at the two guard also.

 In anycase I make this deal if we could, no question.

A lot of people seem to want to trade higher into this draft. I'd much rather try to trade into next years draft. Next years draft is where the Celtics could probably get some really good building blocks and trade chips.

I doubt it.

Ray Allen would have serious value to a contender and Minnesota would almost certainly trade him.

For example don't you think the Bulls would have traded for Ray Allen if the C's had put him on the market this last season? I think they'd have been all over that, especially given that Ray is on a shorter deal so they'd keep payroll flexibility down the line.

Before being so eager to trade away Ray Allen, might want to consider the fact that as valuable as he is to the Celtics now, his future value might even outweigh the present value, i.e. could see him sticking around for 2012 and 2013 at a REAL nice price and given his conditioning and shooting, defenses still need to respect his shot and so he will still be able to stretch the floor...............

It's funny that posters are blasting this idea from the Celts persepctive.  Because I don't see any reason for Minn to make this trade.  I don't think we will be in the lottery next year.  Regardless of how bad the draft is this year, it will take more than two late 1st rounders to get the #2 overall pick.  I am disregarding Ray in the deal but he doesn't have much value for Minn.
