What made me think of this question is the Red Sox #1 draft pick the other day, Matt Barnes, is a self -admitted Yankees fan.  If you were a top prospect would you make it well known you would never sign if drafted by the Lakers?

I went for no because it depends.  For example I couldn't blame someone for wanting to play for Bill Parcells over Pete Carroll.   Back when people thought the Bruins owners/management didn't care about winning I wouldn't blame someone for wanting to play for the Canadians. Back when ML Carr was in charge, and later, Pitino, who could blame someone for not wanting to play here.  But the Yankees is really a different situation.  Back when they had Steinbrenner I think I'd just be the guy who wouldn't shave and who'd laugh at Steinbrenner when he yelled at me.  Granted, then I'd probably never make it to the big leagues, but it would still be pretty awesome.

I've actually thought about this a lot, and the answer is no. It would pain me to play for the Lakers, but if you wanna give me a million dollars I wanna play. Come free agency though, there are some offers I would pay more attention to than others, perhaps those from a team that wears green... perhaps?
