At JO's age and knowing that his knees are what they are, he can probably only be counted on for 40 games or so.

I think Krstic has became a fairly high priority to resign. And then like almost every off season, I hope the Celtics can find a good 4/5 to make the rotation.

This is really depressing.  The thought of JO/Krstic/Davis being our 3 centers is not good.  I was really hoping for more this offseason.  We saw how the JO/BBD depth worked this past year... not well.  I consider Center one of our weakest positions last year, and if it isn't going to get better then I'm sad  :'(

if this group is our center next year we are not winning a championship...i seriously doubt the celts will stand pat though.

I think JO could be a huge surprise next year if he stays relatively healthy.  Now I don't think anyone is expecting him to go 82; however, if we get fairly lucky and he can play 60 or 65 games and he is healthy come playoff time, he could end up being the best center center this team has had since Robert Parish left.

As we saw in the playoffs, he's still a dominant shot blocker.  If he can find even part of his old offensive game, he could be nearly as effective as Shaq with the attention the Big Four attract from opposing defenders.

Best yet, he shoots well enough that he can stay in games at the end, which is something Perk nor Shaq could do.

It's going to take some luck, but he could end up being quite good.  And remember, though injury prone, he's still 32 right now (though he'll be 33 by next season).  And though a high school pick, he barely played the first few years in the league, so essentially had the "college" wear and tear every 32 in the league has.

The problem is that we need to be better next year -- not be just as good.   Right now the only chances for being better are a rejuvinated JO (unlikely) or a vastly improved Jeff Green (?).  Oh, and the Big 4 need to be healthy and ageless.

All other chances for improvement rest with Danny.

Oh to have a healthy Jermaine for 3/4 of a season  ::)
if healthy he is still a very good center, I HOPE he can stay healthy enough for us but don't be surprised to see (insert name or krstic) starting a majority of games at c.
Then again my theory on the nba changing as a whole means we might be able to use kg at center, speed & defense bring back the cowens era!!

Well, I think JO can be better.  I mean even if he only gets as good as he was in Miami, playing that well with 4 All Stars will make a big difference, much like Shaq played much better here than he did in Cleveland or Phoenix.

And I do think Jeff Green will be better.  That's not to say that he'll make the leap and become a star.  But I think a whole training camp under his belt will make him much more comfortable, which even at his current talent level, should yield dividends.

And let's not forget about Rondo.  There's room for him to make a leap too.  If he can take it to the next level, that's another way that this team can still contend.

I think JO will be able to play at a high quality next year, the question becomes however, for how many minutes?? he "Can" play big minutes but the guy is fragile...thats why its important that we re-sign Krstic and use our MLE on a less injury prone 5spot

if Green can play to the level that hes capable of and Rondo continues his improvement in his play then I think we are in a good position to be in contention next year
