This may be a little far fetched to some people but could be very do able. With Garnett, Allen coming off the books and ownership not being afraid to spend money, I see them making a lot of moves in 2012 and surprise people with their spending much like the Red Sox did in Free Agency. I know there's a big difference between Basketball and Baseball but, big market teams in the NBA like the Celtics have shown they can very well bring star players in and give them the money. Assuming Dwight Howard becomes a free agent, I think he becomes the #1 target for the Celtics, there's a deeper reason to why they got rid of Perkins and wouldn't pay him the money two years before Howard potentially becomes a free agent. The Celts also have to decide whether Rondo can lead a team without Allen, Garnett and potentially a declining Pierce as he gets older. I truly don't what they think of Rondo, but he could be a great trade chip if they don't believe he can become the second star to Howard. I personally think they should go after Chris Paul to pair with Howard. Paul is the best point guard in the NBA, NOT DERON WILLIAMS and like Rondo he makes every one around him better BUT Paul can also score 20 points a game himself in addition to making everyone one on the floor better and who honestly knows if Rondo can really do that. That leads me to my next point, if you do trade Rondo what do you get back? I say trading him to Utah would be a good trade. Assuming Utah doesn't trade a point guard, they would jump at the chance to get Rondo but like I said you better be getting something pretty [dang] good in return for Rondo and the celtics target from Utah should be Al Jefferson. Utah has said Jefferson isn't available but he has butted heads with Ty Corbin and with the Celtics offering an all star point guard like Rondo, I think they make the deal. If Howard is on board, Jefferson would likely play the 4, but he played the 4 with the Celtics next to Perkins when he was here and has said before he likes playing the 4 instead of center. Jefferson next to Howard with Paul running the court makes for a championship recipe.
