The guy is 6'4 about wades size and young high energy. Can score like a lightning rod! He could help guard Wade and be a weapon on offense. Any ideas how we could sign him and still get a formidable center?

I don't think he is much of a defender (although I am not sure), but I think he would be definitely worth a look.

I think everything is going to depend on what they do to fill the Center position, but I think Thornton is exactly the type of instant offense guy they want to add to the bench, and he would be cheaper than guys like Crawford.

He sounds good to me, defending on how the C's address the front court needs.

Keep in mind he is restricted. So depending on how the new CBA works, Sacramento could just match the C's contract offer.

Not a fan. Gives up more than he gets.

A quick glance at this indicates SAC's better units don't include him.  If you can't help SAC, prob can't help get banner 18.

. . . he's in their #1 unit in place of Tyreke Evans.

Kings went 10-16 with Thornton in the lineup. He led the team in scoring in 7 of those games (going 4-3 in those games).

If Danny's working out offensive linemen....I'm sure all real basketball players are on the table.

That's a better winning % than their overall season record.

Indeed. Teams need scoring, and he supplies it. To think he didn't help Sacto is off the mark.

Could be a cheaper alternative to the Jamal Crawfords and JR Smiths of this summer's free agent class.

I dont know if the Kings would want him back bad, but he'd be a nice fit here.. Very good offensively, great shooter, the defense will come along. Maybe we could get him for the wole MLE, then just draft a good center (Tyler) or sign a big vet for the vet's minimum to address our problem with the bigs. I'm sure Thornton's worth the risk.

Good scorer. He can be worth a look. He can be Ray's backup and still have scoring on the floor while Ray is resting.
