Thank you for your efforts Shaquille. We know you gave it your all for us and we won't forget that.

Never in a million years did I ever think I would see Shaq on my team. That feeling I got when he signed for Boston in August can never be replicated.

I'M SICK!!!! I'll miss Shaq more than I miss Michael Jackson (I can't even listen to MJ's music or watch that concert movie)and Shaq aint even dead!!!

I'M SAD...
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Aww man I'm gonna miss Shaq he was just dominant in the NBA and his personality was huge. No other player since I've been watching the NBA has had the personality AND talent like Shaq. He's a HOF no question asked and it was just time for him to retire to get to say his speech.

  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
I never liked him until he went to Phoenix, however, over the last few years I have really come to enjoy him. It's hard to believe he was only here for one year, he just fit in so well and endeared himself to the fans so much that he seemed like he had been a long term Celtic.

Sad day for the NBA, one of the all time greats has decided to hang em up. I wish him the best and hope he stays in shape and in the media. Him remaining in front of the camera might be the only thing that will keep him from gaining 100 lbs. I've long thought that after he retires he will be in a wheel chair very early, he has shown a major propensity to put on weight, human beings just aren't meant to be that big.

Ugh... I really thought a healthy Shaq next year and a decent bench player or 2 would give us a legitimate shot at the title.  Not so much that Shaq is a dominating force any more, but our team is really the sum of it's parts; nothing outstanding at this point in their careers, but everyone is very good or better.  We already saw last year what our team was like without him.  Given our cap situation we're not likely to be able to add anyone with nearly his impact.  But the article said 9 months of recovery after surgery which would put his return right before the playoff run again.  Maybe a prolonged lockout could change his mind.

Shaq had a spectacular career and will not go away from the public eye even after retirement. I have a feeling we'll see a lot of Shaq in the future. The short time he played on us, our team was nearly unbeatable. KG described playing with him like paradise.

Become Legendary.
