Not a shock.

His body just isn't into it anymore.

Like the Wallace deal?

Yeah, I rather the player stick around next season.  The Celtics are down to one C.

Shame he couldn't contribute more to our team, I feel like he really tried though. This means we surely have to target a center in the draft or through free agency.
You are no longer black, or brown, or yellow, or red! You are now GREEN, you are light GREEN, or dark GREEN!

Since we're over the cap, it doesn't work that way.  In all likelihood, if they retire we'll lose them for nothing, and won't have any extra money to fill their slots.

I'M THE SILVERBACK GORILLA IN THIS MOTHER... AND DON'T NONE OF YA'LL EVER FORGET IT!

KP / Giannis / Turkuglu / Jrue / Curry
Sabonis / Brand / A. Thompson / Oladipo / Brunson
Jordan / Bowen

So now does this mean we can trade Shaq's contract and Avery Bradley for Durant?

Not unless they throw in Perk as well.

Is he good enough to have his number retired? If so where?

In LA? He left the team on bad terms AND retired a Celtic.

In Orlando? Did he do enough there to deserve his number retired?

Definitely need a quality center if Shaq is retiring.

This is very disappointing news. I hope he'll change his mind and give it one last go.
