A few people have mentioned this guy and Im a buckeye fan and watch the Big Ten, so i have seen this kid play. After watching a youtube highlight of him and reading on bleacherreport.com, i think he would be a nice piece for the celtics. He is 6'11" and 225 lbs. with a 7 foot wingspan, 36 inch vertical, and has a great perimeter game, 37% from 3-point land, and averaged 7 rebounds a game. He looks good and with a weak draft, why not take him?

I liked him at the draft combine. Looked pretty solid to me. Does anybody know where he is projected to go?

Most have him going in the top 15 of the 2nd round

Meaning C's could grab him.  I like the vid-mix.  He's got some nice post moves, an outside shot, athleticism, size and a calm demeanor.

Holy cow!!  I know that it's dangerous to make decisions about players based on youtube videos, but is that dude really seven foot tall?  In that video he keeps taking people off the dribble, and draining reaaaally deep threes.

I haven't been doing that much draft scouting, but right now I like Leuer if he's available at 25.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Can he protect the rim? Can he rebound? I like his offensive potential and he seems have a high IQ, but I have serious questions about his toughness.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
So what's wrong with him if he's projected to go in the 2nd round of a weak draft?

I'd be fine taking him in the 2nd, but not the 1st. There are always a ton of mistakes made in the top 20 of the NBA draft there will be more than a few players better than him still on the board.

If he played in a slow system that affected scoring rates, that would also have affected his per game rebounding.

I was wondering the same thing.  what isn't being mentioned about this kid's game that would have a player of that size, athleticism and scoring ability fall that far in this draft.

He's a senior.  Plain and simple.  The age of under classmen and internationals is amongst us.

For some reason i never read up on or watch a single clip of leuer. However having just watched his youtube highlights he physically reminds me alot of present day KG,(smooth but not explosive)on offence. He looks like a great fit for the Cs and could be developed to fit the big baby pick and pop role on offence. Not sure about his defence but he looks like a great option for the pick and role/pop game with rondo
