Roy has little to no value with his injury history. How can we acquire both Barea and Jordan?

For Atlanta:

They have no cap space, so they can't sign Chandler. Besides, Horford is younger, if not better.

For Portland:

They get Pierce, so what happens to Wallace? You also forgot about Andre Miller. Also, don't think JO would start over Camby.

Roy is a non issue. He scored like 20 points in the fourth against Dallas a few eeks ago. Big D could not stop him...he is fine. No knee issues no more....

No.  It is a major issue.  He is on his way to being a role player, then out of the league.  It stinks, but it is reality.

Ray not taking his option does not give the Celtics cap space.  It just gets them closer to being at the cap.

If a guy can be unstopable in the clutch quarter than he is not done and injured. Shaq is a prime example..he could not doiminate at all in the series even one minute...that's a injury.

You make this trade based on only one strong quarter when all the other evidence (medical records and drop in on floor play) says the opposite?

Yes.  The Celtics pay that tax.



But you can still not just sign over the cap.  You can use the MLE.  The LLE.  Sign a rookie contract.  Sign a min contract. 

Those are not going to get what you suggest done.  And the ability of the Celtics to use those have nothing to do with Ray and his contract.

Roy is young and will be fine. KG had a nasty knee injury and was probaly playing his best ball in 3 years last year! He was great mid season and had a 28 and 18 game against Miami common how'd he do that after that nasty knee injury? He's way older than Roy...

....This isnt even a question, Roy has a degenerative knee injury. Him being young has nothing to do with it, his knee is shot. He can still be a solid player, but his best days are almost definitely behind him.

He knows it, the Blazers know it, and his doctors know it. So what exactly makes you so sure his knee is not an issue anymore?
