I don't think that would be nearly enough for Phoenix.  Lopez is a 23 year old center who started 3/4 of their games last year.  I think it would likely take a mid first round pick to get them to even consider moving him...so, unless the C's are willing to trade the Clippers pick for him, then its a no go.

I would absolutely love that trade.  I watched the Lopez brothers when they played in the Pac 10 and think Robin gets undersold relative to his brother.

But I don't think that's enough to interest Phoenix.

Maybe TE + Celtics 2011 first round pick?

He has been replaced with Gortot.

The Suns usually have shooting PF backup the C.

Saves them some money.

Yeah, definitely saves them some money.  I just think the going rate for a decent, young, tall center is going to be more than a late 2nd rounder.  Or, more to the point, if that is the going rate, then there are teams with cap room or TPEs with higher 2nd rounders who would happily make the trade.

Also, I think Robin Lopez is better than anyone who is going to be available at #25 this year.

I have no issue with that.

I second the motion even if this years #1 does turn out to be the other chip. Lopez would be the best afro in a Celtic uniform since Hambone Williams.

TP for a possible trade idea that makes sense
I think with our current team he would be a GREAT fit.  Athletic & mobile, rondo would make him look pretty good.

also any trade idea that doesn't have to do with rondo for ben gordon etc is fine by me

I would be absolutely shocked if Phoenix would give up this kid for such a low pick in a bad draft.  While they have never shied away from saving money, trading away a young, athletic, 7 footer for a draft pick the C's would probably give away just doesn't make sense.

Why would phoenix trade their starting center for basically nothing in return?

Where's Scal when we need him to even things up here?

I'm with about everybody here.  I'd be shocked.  But with a franchise like Phoenix that seems more concerned with being enlightened than the rapidly downsliding product they're putting on the court...I'd be only mildly shocked.  Besides, Lopez plays a little defense...So he really doesn't fit in there.

Give it a shot, Danny!

well i think phoneix will want a lot more than that for a young improving center like Lopez...other teams will likely offer more in the free market.
