Sign and Trade: Davis for Tyrus Thomas

The Bobcats have been a team listed as a potential suitor for Glen Davis, could the Celtics possibly pull of a sign and trade and get Tyrus Thomas back in return. Thomas is the athletic forward the Celtics could really use and Boris Diaw started over Thomas for all of last year so maybe they're willing to let him go if they're getting someone like Davis in return.

granted this is the Bobcats we're talking about, but why on God's green earth would they give up the superior player in Thomas for BBD?

Yeah I'm not sure this has a chance of happening.  I was looking at things earlier and Reggie Williams is a free agent from Golden State.  Maybe we could work out something there.  A 24 year old wing who's solid, not spectacular, but solid.  I think a player of Williams' level is far more likely than someone such as Tyrus Thomas.

in a perfect world id love to see what rondo could do with a finisher like tyrus thomas but i doubt he'll be here anytime while he still has lift!

I guess it really just depends on how highly regarded Thomas is in Charlotte. I would love to take a chance on him, as he has the athleticism Danny is vying for. I don't know if Baby would be involved in a deal to get him, but he certainly could be a possibility.

Thomas is very, very injury prone.  Because he is always going 100 mph he gets hurt often.

thomas is set to make 32 mill in the next 4 years.. dunno if danny wants to take on that contract but i would love thomas over here athletic shotblocker he fits perfect with the celts

Now that we are going to entertain approximately 1,000 "trade BBD for player X" scenarios over the next few months, is there any way that the mods can go back about three months and scrub any reference to him from the forums?

You know, like all the posts about how "BBD needs to be benched," and "BBD is horrible"?

I'm just thinking that any other team's GM thinking about one of these trades would be discouraged after a simple Google search for "Glen Davis."

We can keep the posts from the first month of the season, when he was considered a borderline All-Star.

Thomas is owed $34m, and makes $7.3m next year. It won't work with Davis because he's not even sniffing the MLE.

Rather than Tyrus Thomas, why don't we make a play for Brandan Wright -- same size, hasn't reached his potential yet and isn't as expensive?

Could be a good flyer on someone who's now under the radar.

Brandon Wright is under the radar because his career was never going to take off.

Wright appeared in thirty-seven games in his lone season at the University of North Carolina, starting all and averaging 14.7 points on 64.6% field goal shooting, 6.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.76 blocks per game.[1] His .646 field goal percentage led the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and was the best ever by an ACC freshman.[1] Wright led the North Carolina team in blocks (sixty-five, sixth in the ACC), and finished second on the team in scoring (14.7 ppg, thirteenth in the ACC) and rebounding (6.2 rpg, fourteenth in the ACC).[1] He was also able to score 20-or-more points on eight different occasions.[1] Wright was able to score in double digits in his first eighteen games as a Tar Heel, making Rashad McCants and himself the only freshman Tar Heels to accomplish the feat in the last twenty years.[3] Wright was named to the NCAA All-East Regional Team after averaging 12.8 points and 7.0 rebounds in four Tournament contests.[1] Eventually, Wright was named MVP of the ACC Tournament, becoming just the fifth freshman in conference history to win the award.[1] Wright was also named Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Year (the third straight Tar Heel to earn the honor) and earned All-ACC Second Team honors.[1][4]

What the hell happened to Wright?  He's been in the league for 3 or 4 years now and still doing absolutely nothing...  I'd take a chance on him, for sure.
