I know it's a big if, especially with Shaq (being healthy) and BBD (resigning);  but if our team next year is Pierce, Allen, Garnett, Rondo, Shaq, BBD, JO, West, Green, and fill in the rest of the blanks; do you think that would be enough to win it all?

We had the best team in the east last year riding the big 3, Rondo, Shaq, BBD, and Marquis, with JO being in and out of the lineup.  And this was all without West and Green.  I figure you can swap West in for Marquis as far as level of impact (though I think West is actually better), but at the very least you're adding Green to the mix.

I know a lot of fans don't want the team to be so dependant on Shaq.  But the reality is we would not have dominated the first half of the season without him.  And for his salary slot, it will be all but impossible to get that type of impact player.  Well I guess it remains to be seen how the new CBA plays out; but most likely it's not going to help over the cap teams like the C's.

I say that if all these guys are somehow miraculously healthy we are still not a championship team...these older guys at their best is not better than some of the younger teams at their best....

If all of our players are healthy, Jeff Green and Rondo improve and we can add a good bench player with the MLE I think the answer is yes
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Possibly, but that's been the case the last three years.  Every year, it becomes more and more unlikely.

It depends what kinds of upgrades Miami and Chicago make to their teams too, obviously.  Our Center position is still so weak

This, plus some injury unluckiness on other teams would help, plus we could get lucky in the draft I guess and maybe Bradley will improve and help

If all of our players including Shaq were healthy we'd be cutting down the Bulls this week. Yes, if that's the case next year we could win it all.

Yes totally

Only if Doc plays his bench more. He needs to give them more confidence to produce. The starters played way to many minutes in the regular season/playoffs and they became too tired because of it

The overriding key is Rondo.  Does he continue his upward trajectory this summer?  Does he come back better than ever?   In particular, does he shoot better next year?   He is one of those guys who has the seemingly magical ability to make everyone better.

I would add to this that there needs to be a shortened season too, or the C's are likely to be worn out.

I think we are going to be at a big disadvantage signing a quality MLE or veterans minimum player this year though (depending on the CBA).  The Boston is no longer the destination for players looking to finally get a ring. I think it is likely that Miami will get for dibs on any player we want.

you know Riley was pretty smart assembling that big 3 of his...granted 2 of the 3 are mercenaries...they are like a magnet for role players to fill out that squad...i hope they fall this year somehow...if they get dubbed as being 'losers' that might decrease their magnetic pull enough for us to pick up some good players out there too!

I find it highly unlikely
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Somewhat safe bet. I could pick the Heat or the Bulls and say they have no real shot at the title, and there's a better than 50% chance I'd be right.

Are you seriously asking this question?  Do you know who's on our team?

Don't let people who know nothing of basketball get you down.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
