How about we move Delonte over to starting point guard
then we can trade Rajon to Detroit for Gordon. We need offensive firepower and Ben can score the basketball. There were reports in January that Ben was worried the Pistons could look to trade him..

"
When Gordon agreed to terms with the Pistons, he believed he was joining a team that would continue to win and contend each season. Instead, he's in the middle of trade rumors and a rebuilding effort that he didn't sign up for.

"It's really tough, man. I didn't see this coming. I never saw any of this stuff coming when I signed here. It's a state of transition and we have a lot of issues that hopefully get sorted out. But that's part of the business of basketball. These things happen and we just have to weather them and look forward to things changing and getting better," Gordon told HOOPSWORLD.

"When you see stuff happening to a guy like Richard Hamilton, who has won a championship here and had so many great years, I'd be foolish to think that the same couldn't happen to me or anybody else in this room. That's what's going on right now with our team," Gordon said."

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Yikes, I am not sure if you realize how much higher Rondo is regarded (and deservedly so) than Gordon. While I don't hate Ben Gordon, he isn't even in the same universe as Rondo. Frankly, I wouldn't trade Rondo for the Pistons whole roster.

Not sure which scares me more...the idea of trading Rondo for Gordon, or the idea of Delonte as our starting point guard.  I love Delonte but I don't like him for big minutes at the point.
Yup

My plan to win would be to put our best players on the court and outscore our opponent. We were better with Rondo than West in the regular season and the playoffs by a wide margin. In fact we were much better off with Rondo after he was injured than we were with West. It's a similar idea to trading KG so we could start Baby.

I wouldn't make Delonte the starting point guard being that he is almost made of glass. I would like to see him stay healthy next year before I even put trust into that.

i think it's a terrible idea. Ben Gordon is a gunner, not a playmaker nor a defender. our team would be so so so much worse off with Ben Gordon.

Would we even trade West for Gordon? He has a pretty horrible contract I thought. No need for jumping on a guy for coming up with an idea, but you have to understand the celtics could get a lot more than ben gordon if they were to trade Rondo. I think they would definitely get a couple of first rounders and probably something else. I don't believe Gordon has ever made an all star game and he is definitely not a young player that is still rapidly improving (and rondo has shown improvement every year)

this is honestly one of the worst trade's I've ever heard of......exactly what was said before.....Monroe and 2 1sts, and they can have Davis......Rondo's value so far exceeds Ben Gordon (who by the way is one of the streakiest shooters in the league in addition to a complete lack of size/defensive ability at his position, which is neither point guard or shooting guard).

The End

I've got to say, this is a trade idea I didn't expect to see on here.  Ben Gordon is overpaid, doesn't play defense, and has seen his production decrease dramatically.  Why would we trade an all-star PG for him?
