I called it when the Baron and unprotected 1st for Mo Williams trade went down.  You NEVER, EVER trade an unprotected lottery pick for a slightly above average PG in Mo Williams.  Now, they just gave up the #1 pick in the draft (a weak draft yes, but Kyrie Irving is legit) and Baron for Mo Williams.  Bwahahaha.  No wonder why they never win.

Baron was on the books for 2 more years, he could gradually give up playing time to Irving, and then his $$ would be off the books in time to spend big $$ on Griffin and then Irving.  Just a bad, bad, bad deal.  Serves them right.

Stern was going to give the #1 pick to CLE no matter what. 

There's a reason they don't show the ping pong balls on TV and offer a live lottery (even though every regional lottery has been airing their random ping pong drawings live for years).

I don't buy that.  If the lotto were fixed, you don't think the C's would've gotten 1 or 2 for Durant/Oden?  Or, won the Duncan sweepstakes over a lousy market like San Antonio?  Why would Stern care about Cleveland ... that's a lousy market?  Look how great for the NBA the C's recent resurgence has been.  You don't think Stern would've hooked the C's up if it was fixed?  Come on.

yeah clippers are pretty dumb is blake going to run the offense too? But I think the draft is rig to many hometown prospects are ending up on their home town team rose chicago lebron cleveland not to mention the closed door lottery when we had the best chance @ the number 1 pick and we ended up with the worst pick possible its defnietly sketchy

How were we tanking when Pierce and Wally weren't playing?  Our rotation was made up of all 1st and 2nd year players with the occasional Rondo or Powe rookie sighting (or Scals).

What happens to that 2012 protected first round pick we have if the Clippers end up with a 1 - 10 pick next year?

Do we simply lose that pick?

Wow, painful loss for the Clippers.

An Irving + Griffin inside outside combination would have been wonderful to build around. Add in Eric Gordon as the third option. Lovely. Just add some quality defenders / rebounders / finishers and off you go. DeAndre Jordan and Aminu could be two of those guys.

Massive loss.

It might be a loss but the clippers young core group looks ready to make some noise in next years playoffs.  Throw a few vets into their team and its a solid crew.

The Celtics pick from the Clippers (via OKC) is unprotected in 2016, I believe. Correct?

Think of it this way: Did Mo Williams help the Clippers gain or lose a place in the rankings?  If so, they wouldn't have ended up with the #1 pick even if they hadn't made the trade.
