  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Wow -- Rajon Rondo, Latrell Sprewell and Eddie Jones -- that is a huge amount of quickness and activity defensively. Dangerous passing lanes when those guys are around.
Also dangerous to be their Coach, but that's mostly on Spree.

Though Rondo is difficult to coach at times, I wonder what would happen if Spree took him under his wing instead of KG?  :P

Slightly off-topic here - but isn't Dirk Nowitski just an amazing player?

He is Larry Bird Lite.

He is humble, but a pure assassin. He is the kind of player that will smile and hug you after the game after dropping 50 pts on you.

Yeah, the not being a cocky assassin-- and the lack of passing ability-- is what kept him from being Bird.
That and rebounding, Dirk has always been a weak rebounder. Bird would create a lot more possessions on the borads and with steals than Dirk does.

Is this why I haven't gotten a single offer for Shawn Kemp or Mark Price?

I thought long and hard about Shawn several rounds ago...his skills would've added to my roster talent-wise, but he would've also been redundant, to me.

KG does the same things for me, and adds defense. Kemp was a capable defender, but KG added more in that regard.

Now if I didn't have KG? Sure Kemp would've been gone in the 4th or 5th round, for me.

I'm actually pretty surprised there's been limited to no interest it in Kemp. Besides being an absolute delight to watch play, he was an incredible talent.

Yeah...I know for me at least I've always had problems separating the "jokes" from the "sarcasm" on here...it is difficult for me to discern that at times.

I just don't do internet humor well - at all.

Just so we're straight, my little avatar picture, where the penguin is pointing.

Wth the 4th pick in the draft, The Los Angeles Lakers select:

That guy on the left - Michael Cooper!!

LA now welcomes back yet ANOTHER Laker! Coop was an elite defender, especially on Larry....played his role extremely well, and adds a deep threat!

And with this pick, I dedicate this song in memory of Coop, Kareem and Worthy:

Saw that too - and was Shocked to say the least.

The Climate of this draft from last year to this has certainly changed, IMO.

I'm not sure of the particulars behind what happened, so I cannot comment there.

But this was shocking to me.

I know that Bahku doesn't want to disrupt the draft, so he's bitten his tongue on this.  I know that I wasn't a fan of the discipline -- this was supposedly going to be a relaxed and "just for fun" atmosphere -- but I'm going to respect Bahku's wishes until we're doing our "exit interviews" regarding what could be done better in the future.

I will say, though, that it's a shame that at least one GM (who happens to be the Commish) has become a bit too over-competitive in this draft.  I would think that we could use a little bit of common sense, rather than fairly draconian punishment for minor rule infractions.  The way this draft has been handled a couple different times has left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth.  At the same time, being a Commissioner in one of these things isn't an easy job.  I just wish a bit of discretion could have been used in this case.  And that's all I have to say about that.   :P

I hope no other GM makes the same unknown mistake.  I hate to see another team lose multiple draft picks because there is an unknown rule out there that can get you.
Must've been unbelievably minor if no one can even figure it out.

Remember this is a draft with "no parameters."

....Yet like 50 random rules.

Personally I think it's a little too have your cake and eat it too.

Just never try to clarify a rule, that's clearly a mistake.

Yeah, lol...that avatar of yours is one of the best on here.

Don't worry - I'll be switching back to my beloved Celtics after this thing is over.

I have gained a healthier respect for the Lakers, though - especially the 80's version.

They were Amazing...and the bond that Larry and Magic formed helped to shape the NBA to this day.

I have a lot of respect for Dr. Jerry Buss, but when he stated that THIS version of LA was better than the 80's Lakers, I thought he had fell off of his rocker, to say the least.
