I've unfortunately run out of small forwards to extensively analyze while waiting for picks. Sorry, guys

Looking to trade for an 11th round pick and offering

 - my 12.5 and 13.8 if you have an 11th rounder below my 8th pick in the 11th or

 - my 12.5 and 13.8 and my 10.5 for your 10th and 11th rounders if you have an 11th rounder higher than my 8th pick in the 11th

PM me if interested.

EDIT: Will also throw in 10 TPs to the deal.

Oh come on now, you can analyze Kevin Durants shortcomings and whether or not Dennis Rodman will be able to adequately cover the league's best SFs, which is what I plan to use him for.

I almost drafted Durant, I really like him in the role of guy who stands in the corner and waits to shoot 3's. (To be clear, that's not a knock, I think its a valuable asset in this game)

Would you play Durant & Rodman at the same time? I don't see how that'd work.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Here is how I'd defend the Lakers, especially in this format:

1) I wouldn't waste my time debating whether or not Shawn Marion was an elite defender in his younger years. Better basketball minds than mine have waxed philosophical on the topic enough times in the past so that its kind of a given. It is also kind of an irrelevant point involving one role player that doesn't concern the Lakers.

2) The Lakers' biggest offensive critique is that they lack strong 3pt shooting from the guys who are going to play the most minutes (Worthy, Garnett, Payton), while the strong 3pt shooters only have one guy (Dumars) who is going to really see significant minutes on the court.

The way I'd defend that is first mentioning that while only one of the starters is a strong 3pt shooter, none of the starters are lane cloggers. Kareem, KG, Worthy, all those guys could hit a mid-range shot, and because of that danger, they'll be no more a liability in the middle than KG is now on the Boston Celtics, and since Payton is a much more versatile offensive player than the current incarnation of Rondo, he ought to be able to move around a lot more.

I'd also mention regarding James Worthy that he never played with a rotation that involved heavy minutes for bombers from outside, excepting one current coach and former player. Magic Johnson was never a strong 3pt shooter during his prime, and he still managed to get 4 rings during what many people would refer to as the most competitive era in basketball (although I think they'd be selling the post 2007 era pretty short) with James Worthy as one of his primary running mates.

like that is always lethal." - Evan 'The God' Turner

Depends on the matchup and situation in the game. There are so many teams with excellent SFs that can score and big front lines that I do think that if my team was down I might put them out there together possibly with Gasol, Magic and West. Play Rodman on the SF and try to have Durant take advantage of their PF on the break by breaking out to the three point line looking for a Magic pass out. If they switch and have the SF guarding Durant and let Rodman wander while packing it in down low preventing Magic penetration I would use Rodman setting outside screens for Gasol, Durant and West outside as all are great shooters from mid range and further(though not all the way out for the three for Gasol. If they play tight on a spread offense that opens things for magic.

Again, very situational but I believe it could be done and work effectively in the right circumstance. Generally though Durant will play and the rotation will be such after the first few minutes that Rodman will get in the game and play most of his minutes versus the other teams best scoring forwards and Reed and Durant will get time versus their bench players after the first few minutes of each half.
