Just trying to realistically defend my team here, Rondo2287.
Then I suggest you emphasize your teams strengths when talking about it, and don't complain about how others argue. That's never going to be a good tactic.

Done that already.

In a Blog format, it is so easy to bend truth and articles to fit a poster's argument, though.

Like that Marion article...what SO got out of it was that Marion was a very under-rated defender, which I can agree he was.

But what I also saw was that there were some chemistry issues, in that Shawn didn't always bring it during the course of a game.

That was younger Shawn, though.

I have every hope that THIS Shawn (and Dirk) can stop us from a summer of Heat.

Man that sounds plain awful.

I know this draft is subjective, but I think I may be the only Owner here that is willing to own up to my team's few deficiencies.

I think I've remained pretty subjective here throughout. I just strongly disagree with your stance on Shawn Marion.
Indeed :D

Except when it comes to Glen Rice. Ya'all are idiots when it comes to Glen Rice.

Then why bellyache?

By bend the truth you mean have a different point of view and argue it, sure it is.

That's largely the point of the game. To make a dream team and debate and argue about your own and other people's selections.

I posted to point out that on top of many opinions, there's statistical evidence that shows Shawn Marion to be an elite defender.

Honestly, GF, the fact that you keep laboring that Shawn Marion is currently a better defender displays to me that you might've overlooked Marion in his prime. It's inarguable that he was a better defender in his days with the Suns.

Well, in any event I have thoroughly enjoyed this game.

Much applause to NickAgneta, Roy, Who, IP, Faf, Edgar and the other Mods and panelists for their input.

I may not have always agreed with everyone's point of view, but this game has been a welcome distraction as my Achilles continues to heal.

A torn Achilles has got to be the worst injury a person can get.

But he wasn't disciplined back then, as I think someone here has mentioned.

Can you imagine ANY player taking a play or two off in THIS Draft?

Against Worthy? Lebron, or Scotty, KG?

I don't recall Shawn Marion having a history of taking plays off.

I said he wasn't as disciplined, which isn't surprising. Most players in their 30s are forced to become more disciplined due to declining athleticism.

But a lack of discipline doesn't mean he lacked effort. Rather he made more aggressive defensive plays and gambles, as well as more mental mistakes. Though I think that might be in large part due to D'Antoni's coaching. Awful defensive coach...

Where? I made a point to quickly skim through it before saying that.

Ha. See this is where I disagree with a few other posters. I think the fun and good natured of the draft has made everyone a little oversensitive when it comes towards debate. I don't see why there'd be an issue with debating over Marion's defensive abilities. Healthy, good spirited debate.
