I get the impression that - say - a Kevin Garnett or a Gary Payton, even - could possibly get into his head?

I read the article (when it came out, and again now), and have read the book they're referring to (Its actually on my desk right now). The issues he had mentally had nothing to do with on the court stuff, it was more about him always being upset about 'not getting his due.' Marion was always jealous of the praise that Nash and Stoudemire would get, while he was an afterthought despite that he was constantly defending an opponents best offensive player while putting up some mind boggling numbers.

I suppose you could argue that this would still be an issue in this format, but I'd argue that despite these ongoing (and pretty well documented) issues it didn't really seem to affect Marion on court.

I wont be able to draft today if possible I will draft when I get back from golfing after everyone has drafted
Can we just bypass your position when it comes up then rather than waiting for the allotted time to pass.

I believe Roy made Bakhu's picks for him yesterday and selected Andrei Kirilenko + Vin Baker

BTW, 'Seven Seconds or Less' is a great, easy, and quick read for anyone who hasn't read it yet.

I think I got it off of Amazon in the fall for $3 plus shipping

We can't have Nick being bored so....

Boston wouldn't be Boston without this guy. He was an intricate part of 8 rings as a player. He is the only person to have the distinction of being involved in an official team capacity in each of the Celtics' 17 championships.

With pick 10.2 the Celtics select their glue guy:

Tom Heinsohn

Here's a quote that pretty much tells you why anyone would be happy to have him on their team:

"As a player, I was Red [Auerbach's] whipping boy! Finally, I stopped him one day and said, 'You're getting on me so much in this locker room that the rookies are stealing my socks!' So you know what he does? He goes out to the locker room and he says, 'Rookies, stop stealing Tommy's socks!' HAHAHAHAHA ... "

He took the pressure off the rest of the team. If you're on Tommy's team they're going to have to get by him to get to you.

Agreed

Sure?

Then why couldn't a team that had Amar'e Stoudamire....Steve Nash...and Shawn Marion - all in their primes - not make it over the hump?

Maybe they weren't mentaly tough? Like..say a KG, Kareem or Dumars?

Or were there chemistry issues?

I know this draft is subjective, but I think I may be the only Owner here that is willing to own up to my team's few deficiencies.

I know that players are human and prone to having issues, but I think some of us here are glossing over some of their player's shortcomings just a tad.

But - it's just a Game here, right?

I think others are:

CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

Because Tim Duncan's Spurs were better as were the 06 Mavs.

No shame in that, those Spurs teams went on to be convincing NBA champions and the Mavs absolutely could have been if not for Wade playing some of the best basketball I've ever seen in the Finals. (with an assist via poor officiating)

Just trying to realistically defend my team here, Rondo2287.

Then I suggest you emphasize your teams strengths when talking about it, and don't complain about how others argue. That's never going to be a good tactic.

Yeah that didn't help, plus they played those Spurs tough that year.

Two years prior Joe Johnson literally broke his face during their WCF. That eliminated what was looking to be a very good series between those teams.

I think I've remained pretty subjective here throughout. I just strongly disagree with your stance on Shawn Marion.
