I gotta go with Artis in his rookie year, (1971-1972) ... hard to believe, but he was both the ABA Rookie of the Year and the ABA MVP that year, and check out the stat line, (this is a rookie, mind you):

.598 FG%, 23.8 PPG, 17.8 RPG, 2.7 APG, 5.0 BPG, 43.6 MPG ... not bad for a first-year guy. ;)

Sadly, no ABA seasons, so we can't see the full brilliance of Artis.
This gives me an idea for a future draft: The ABA Era.

The players eligible will be anyone who played in either the NBA or ABA during the years the ABA was up and running and you can use stats from one year only and it can be either ABA or NBA stats.
Sounds like it would work and we wouldn't have to talk about LeBron or Kobe. :)

Yup, I think it'd be cool.

I'll go with 1978-1979 for Gilmore then, still not too shabby:

.575 FG%, 23.7 PPG, 12.7 RPG, 3.3 APG, 1.9 BPG, 39.8 MPG ;)

It's that first number that I find most impressive.

In 80/81 he shot .670 FG% and had five other years over .600 ... a highly under-appreciated player, IMHO.

(I'm considering starting KJ with Michael as well).

I think you gotta move Dominique

I might've landed myself an awesome, NBA CHAMPION at the small forward today.

I'm a Nique fan, but I don't have use for him. I feel like there's a trade to be made with the Lakers

Webber or Moncrief? One was a 6-11 PF and one was a 6-3 guard. Was there a trade I missed?

Unannounced one that may or may not involve the greatest player to ever wear the #41 on both the Heat and the Hornets.

Here's an important Artis stat:

• Dr. J’s afro was good, but Artis Gilmore’s afro was great. You could argue that Gilmore dominated because of his size, his scoring touch and his tenacity in the lane. But don’t underestimate the power of the Afro. It added at least six inches to his already gigantic 7’2” frame, and it was never clear where his head ended and his hair began. He could have easily had an IQ over 300 with a brain that big.

I love Artis.  One of the All Time underrated players in the NBA.  I was hoping he'd slip a little farther.

Such a sad end of his career with the C's.  He was all decrepit.

An amazingly strong dude.
Yup

Hey, if Nique is going anywhere it better be Denver.  That goes double for Kemp.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

A squirrel just jumped on the electrical transformer on the telephone pole outside my house and I am now without electricity and limited Droid battery.

I kid you not. Don't know how long I will be without electricity. Hopefully Nationalgrid will get me up and going sooner rather than later as I have some PMs to answer and a trade to deal with.

Until then everything is as is.
