A squirrel just jumped on the electrical transformer on the telephone pole outside my house and I am now without electricity and limited Droid battery.

I kid you not. Don't know how long I will be without electricity. Hopefully Nationalgrid will get me up and going sooner rather than later as I have some PMs to answer and a trade to deal with.

Until then everything is as is.

Poor squirrel ... that must've fried his acorns.
Yeah, animals can be dumb.  10 bucks to whoever can guess what I woke up to in my toilet last week (with the lid closed)

Skunk?

Walrus?

Nope, a sparrow.  Took me a while to remember that toilets are connected to a ventilation shaft so that the water isn't sucked out of the trap when you use the sink or bathtub.  There was a huge rain storm that night, he must've got disoriented.  I couldn't believe he made it all the way through the pipes and then managed to swim through the U-bend.

I was even more surprised he was still alive.  I tried to scoop him out because he was soaked and I didn't think he could fly, but that was a miscalculation and he ended up under the bathtub.  I brought in the cat to scare him out but being the sheltered indoor cat he is, his fur shot straight up and was too scared to venture under the tub (he could probably smell and hear it but couldn't see it).  Nonetheless it ended up flying out the window on its own while I went to get the backup cat.  Crazy morning though.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Reminds me of that bird from The Island of Misfit Toys, (Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer/Rankin-Bass) ... and the water-pistol that shoots ... jelly. ;)

Speaking of jelly and jam, man, that Michael Jordan could throw it down! (How's that for getting back on topic? ;)).

Love Bahku'S picks of Gilmore and KJ. Also like the Webber and DJ picks. My concern with Hal Greer is 6ft2 but that's just me.

I had a fox, then a rabbit run in front of my car within 30 seconds of each other today.  Both survived.

Is Seattle worried about Unseld being a center and 6ft7 (and maybe shorter)?

Roy said he wasn't paying much attention to height for the earlier guys, so I took that into account.

Greer was the 3rd or 4th best guard of his decade.  Just too hard to pass that up in the 7th round.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Monroe
Oscar
Glide

That's one heck of a play-making lineup.

Thanks, man ... both highly underrated players in my opinion, and about 45 points and 21 rebounds between the two, (coming off the bench) ... not bad at all. ;)

I'm struggling with my next pick.  Getting tough to figure out where to place players.  I think I can wait on one guy, but I really want him, so that is the big issue for me.

What?!?!  I'm shocked!

In other news, I'm stepping away from the draft as a panelist.  I gave nick my resignation, and he was gracious enough to accept it.  Don't worry, folks:  this isn't a Jim Tressel situation. ;)

I'll continue evaluating and providing commentary, but I won't be voting at the end of this.  That suits me just fine, because I hate the idea of "judging" people when the difference between these various teams is ultra-small.
