I hate to poo poo on the great 11 ringed one so I'll try to be nice, I sort of agree. I think the only way he competes at C is if you look at things the way Roy has described. I have been trying to draft guys that I thought could compete against any eras players but thta just goes to show you how many different ways there are to look at this draft. It makes things fun.
Yeah, it's definitely a balancing test, and I can see why people would want to stay away from 1960s players. Realistically, even today's role players would dominate physically if transported back in time to the 1960s (with a few exceptions, such as when matched up against Wilt).
Therefore, the only "fair" way I can think to evaluate things is by projecting yesterday's players as if they were born into the world today, with the same relative level of dominance. However, I also totally understand if another panelist thinks that's way too hypothetical, and just look at players as they were, rather than how they could be.
