How does McHale fair against Garnett in a 1 on 1 matchup? That'd be something, man. He never faced anyone with Garnett's athleticism/length coupled with his determination, but Garnett never faced anyone with McHale's array of post moves and ability to score. Très Intéressant.

McHale >>> Garnett.

That could be (and had been) debated on here a for a bit....but I don't think McHale ever had the defensive range of KG. Both are splendid players, though.

McHale has always been a slightly better lowpost scorer than KG, but it can be debated whether he could carry a team - like KG.

I think the question to ask is:

What would KG do if he was time-warped back to 1986 and played in place of McHale?

Wow.

Larry, KG, and Chief.

Not a bad pick at all from WeMadeIt17, for Karl Malone. Mailman was my 2nd pick, behind KG...I would've been comfortable picking Karl or KG.

Mailman's defense is very under-rated, too...checking basketballrefernce.com, he has several Defensive awards as well.
Is four in 18 years a lot? I suppose you only need 1 for the purpose of this draft. I love the Mailman and had him in my next 5 to 7 but have a few guys I liked better.

If I remember correctly, last year's Historical Draft listed all of the player's acccomplishments - not just one year.

I think the choice of which year you pick for your team is dependent upon how they could mesh together.

[dang] I was hoping he would slip through the cracks. Honestly though, he should never have made it this far.

That's an absolute steal and the player I was referring to earlier.   He should not have fallen this far.

That (as Edgar put it) is some meat. I agree, can't believe he lasted this long.

Excellent pick, Elgin had some sick seasons - his career isn't as well-regarded because of time in the military and late-career injuries that cost him a ring.  But for a one-season deal he's up there with the very best.

I admittedly fell in love with the idea of starting an up-tempo team with Chuck and Russell in the front court.

Baylor was one of a few guys I had debated between.

I'm certain that you're incorrect. It was definitely one year accomplishments, I remember one player in particular sparked up the debate for this.
