This is just a very good article about Wilt Chamberlain being better than Bill Russell.

EDIT: When I said 'very good' I meant to write 'incredibly terrible'

How are games and minutes played going to be counted?  I mean if a guy played 70 games one season and that was his best season, is it better to go with that season or a season in which he played 82 games if it was only slightly worse.
That's all up to you.
Actually it is up to how the panelists are going to treat it?

also, any issue with me drafting now, or do I need to wait?
I sent you a private message regarding this

Panelists aren't allowed to tell you how they are going to judge teams or how they evaluate them. So it really is up to you.

Big O's single season has to be a near no-brainer, right?
nope.  I think the only no-brainer is Wilt.

I dunno ... he had a lot of amazing seasons, but '63-'64 was pretty sweet, (that's about the time I started watching hoops with my Dad).

Greatly looking forward to round 2.

Just 1 pick a day, right?

Until next Tuesday, (the 31st), then it's at 1 and 2:30, and picks are only five minutes apart. The complete schedule is on the first page of this thread.

Great First Round!

I know I'm happy...IMO it will be difficult to argue against any pick so far.

Greatly looking forward to round 2, my guess is that it'll be the most interesting of all the rounds.

For me, if you select a year where a guy missed games, I'll assume he missed those games in this "season", as well.  However, unless he missed a ton of games *or* missed / was hobbled in playoff games, I doubt it will be a huge deal.

nope.  I think the only no-brainer is Wilt.

I don't think Wilt's is a no-brainer by any means.

You may be right and it may depend a lot on the rest of the roster, but taken in a vaccum, his is about as close as you can come to a no-brainer (at least with respect to the all time greats).

Shaq's to me is probably the biggest no-brainer, right?

99-00: MVP, Finals MVP, and like 30 pts, 14 boards, 80 games, 3 blocks, 4 assists?

I'm paraphrasing, because I've looked at those stats so often. I don't know anyone who had a better season from the 5.

MJ number 1 woo hoo

Yeah, it is woo-hoo to me. I'll take this as a show of support. Congrats to Redz on the early lead. ;)

It was MJ or Bird all the way for me.

My way of thinking was MJ was the first guy at that stage of my life who convinced me that Bird was not the greatest athlete in the history of the universe (and other universes too).

Larry was a god for me growing up.

Happy to have him playing for the franchise who he torched for his final great performance.
