Call me crazy, but i have a feeling Austin Rivers is drafted by the Cs in 2012 with the Clippers first rounder. This might have gone into Doc's decision to come back. Obviously this is speculation, maybe I'm reaching though haha! ::)

Not unless you are expecting Rivers to have a terrible season next year.  He will likely be a top 5 pick.

You never know though. Wasn't Bradley number one rated player coming out of High school over John Wall?

You never know how he is going to end up next year. I don't know much about college B-ball or Coach K but Duke is always pretty good and who knows if he will thrive/standout as much as people think

That's my assumption, as well.  However, nbadraft.net has his projected at #11 for 2012, and draftexpress.com has him at #10.  It's still way, way too early for any firm prognostication, but maybe it's more of a possibility than we expect?

Well, Bradley was the number 1 rated college prospect (on 1 of the lists...most of the others had Wall number 1), however, he wasn't considered the number 1 pro prospect in that class.

Obviously stranger things have happened, but I have a hard time believing Rivers will drop that much, and if he does, he will likely stay in school longer.

I think having a father coach his son in the pros is a disaster waiting to happen.

My group of Celtic fans has been discussing this as well.  Obviously a little premature since we don't know yet how well he will adapt to the college game.  Interesting option though.

As one of my sons pointed out they can't get us for tampering right?   :D

Agreed.

Doc might want to coach Austin, but I doubt Austin wants to be coached by Doc.

Even without that, I don't think it's fair to put Doc into the position to have to make sure to separate the family part from the coaching part.

It's actually not that far of a stretch.  With a lot of guys returning I could see him falling a little.  I see him being more of a 5-10 guy though, id be surprised to see him around 11-15.

I don't understand how the draft picks work so if the clippers have a terribe season we shuld be able to get him right?

I think holding onto that pick until Blake decides where he's going in 2014 is our best bet. Who knows? Come 2016 we could have the #1 pick in the draft and a contending team.

We have the Clippers 2012 1st round pick man, its not that outlandish.

I think the pick was top 10 protected. So the Celtics can take their pick and use it if they are outside of number 10 at any point.

I believe thats the case.
