I think this is great news! I was not the biggest of Doc fans in the beginning of his tenure with us but he has definitely won me over. Of course there are things he can do to improve going forward but that is another story.

The bottom-line is that by him agreeing to stay for another half of decade, it sends the message loud and clear to current and future players, that Boston is not only a place he loves and wants to stay, but the atmosphere here is and will be, one of passion, excitement, competitiveness, and title chasing. If you want to compete for a title, play for a players coach and become part of a tradition that is unmatched in all of basketball, come join Doc in Boston and let him lead you to the promised land!
