So, this kid is Chad Ford's latest prediction for the C's to take, and after this Miami series, I would love to take a shot at him.

Essentially he is 6'10" (that might be generous) with long arms, and is supposedly the best low post scorer in the draft, as well as an incredibly productive rebounder.  His big knock is that he is not a great athlete, and has dealt with some weight issues.  However, at that point in the draft, there will always be something wrong.

I have not seen this kid play at all myself, so perhaps someone who has seen him can give a little more insight, but based on the scouting reports and the numbers, I think he would be a great guy to give a shot.  Get him in here working with Brian Doo, and perhaps he could be steal, and could provide them with an inside presence off the bench.

Yeah, I mentioned him in the "Power Forward" thread.

Ford said that Williams had "transformed" his body recently. Looking much more cut. The Sean May comparison scares me, though.

I've not seen him play either.

I watched him absolutely tear apart BC. I wouldn't say he's unathletic. When he got good post position it was an automatic basket. However, scoring against BC in the post last season was not very difficult. As Matthew McConaughey said in Tropic Thunder, it was like pistol whipping a blind kip.

I think Williams would be a very good pick.

Not to thread Jack you but my hope is that Tristan Thompson or Kenneth Fariead slips and we can grab them.

I dont know anything about this kid.  But from that description he sure sounds an awful lot like Big Al.  And at 25 I'd be pumped to get a Big Al.

I've seen him play a couple times and I do agree he is one of the best post players in the draft. His athleticism didn't hurt him in college but will definitely hinder him in the NBA. I wouldn't be mad at the pick at 25 but he is only a sophomore and I want someone who could contribute to the team immediately.

He has legit NBA size which is always a plus.  We've been dealing with undersized guys such as Davis and Powe for far too long.  I definitely wouldn't be mad with picking him.  The only thing is with the potential he has, if he shows any sort of weight loss/work ethic at the combine that I feel he's going to be gone well before we pick.
do it

I see no reason why Ainge couldn't convince Wyc to pony up some cash to move up or buy outright an earlier pick.

Could be like Boozer. Probably needs to be a bit more agile though otherwise he could be like BBD.
