As much as I would like to sulk and try to forget about basketball for a long time because of the Celtics' elimination from the playoffs, I'll try to stay positive and move on. Maybe it's just not meant to be for us this year and next year it might be ours. But we should all be proud of this team no matter what. No excuses, we lost to a better team. I'm not going to talk about the offseason and what happens next, we have all summer (and maybe till January) for that.
So now I'd just cheer for another team, a team that I think deserves to (finally) win a championship - the Dallas Mavericks! After SA, LA and Boston, the Mavs are the last remaining 'old school' team in the playoffs. Nowitzki, Kidd, Terry, Marion and even Stojakovic are long-time vets who have worked so hard and went through a lot of frustrations to get to this point. This should be the year for vindication and retribution. Like the Celtics of '08, they have some future hall of famers who are so hungry for glory, and they deserve it, especially Dirk - one of my favorite players.. Unlike the current Celtics, they have superstars who deliver every game, and unlike the current Celtics, they have a very good coach who maximizes his players' abilities - from Nowitzki to Mahinmi (you get my drift!).. They are the most experienced, most talented and deepest team of the remaining contenders and barring any catastrophes, I'm sure they'd go all the way.
Let's Go MAVS!
