I think we should give the Big 3 one last run next year especially with the shortened season, maybe they will have gas left in the tank playing say 50 games for the season then the playoffs, they always seem to fade after the all star break, get rid of everyone on the bench besides Green and West, add a few key pieces and try to win it all, once the season is over KG and Ray's contracts are done, they still got Rondo, Pierce, Green, and West, got cap space to sign a few free agents in a pretty good free agent class that includes Deron Williams, Eric Gordon, OJ Mayo, Chris Paul, and Dwight, and we have 2 picks in the first round in the 2012 draft which could be the deepest draft in years.

Agreed, unless there is a trade that makes the team better immediately, like Ray and pieces for Dwight, this team should play together again next year. I'm not interested in blowing things up yet, it would be really hard for the rejuvenated fan base to stomach a long rebuilding process.

What cap space do the Celts have to sign free agents?

I believe he means after the 2012-2013 season where the Celtics only have around 28 million in salary on the books.

There's no reason to not give it another run with these guys...because the team will be blown up naturally before the 2012 season, when basically everybody except Rondo and Pierce (maybe we sign Jeff Green long-term) has a contract that expires. And, it's not like we'd get great value for KG or Ray this offseason. Yeah, sure, teams would be happy to have an expiring contract, especially a big one, but are they willing to give a really good young player? Doubtful. In which case...you just keep them, find some younger athletes to supplement them, and let their contracts run out. At which point, we'll probably be the only contender with tons of cap space to go after multiple top FAs.
