Glen davis, where to begin.

Glen Davis played terrible this series, yaddiyaddi-yaddi. We all know that. I agree.
I also agree, I want him out of Boston, he's gonna want too much money. He doesn't give us what we need. Trash him all you want, I have too. BUT......

Glen has been a great bench player for us the last 3 years. He was a 6th man candidate up until the all-star break, and we were all praising him for his play. Not to mention, last year he single handendly won us a bunch of games, and played excellent in the playoffs as well. The year before, he almost brought us to the Finals when KG got hurt, and gave us one of the best moments in the Big 3 era with the buzzer beater vs Orlando. The year before that, he was a rookie who contributed to a championship team.

We've watching him grow up in front of our eyes, we've watched him cry, drool, miss open dunks, etc. etc.

He has given us great bench minutes the last couple of years, excellent contributions. Granted, his lack of height proposed some issues, but he always had the heart and took a ton of charges and gave his body for the Celtics.

Granted, that all went away for the second half of the season, and the majority of the playoffs.
Still.....
Trash BBD all you want, and with good reason for his play in this series. I don't want this guy to be remebered in Boston just for his performance in this series.

NOT TO MENTION, he has been hurt the whole second half of this season.

Agreed. It was kind of a shocker to me to see Glen Davis turn into such a liability this postseason, because Glen Davis has typically stepped up has game big time in the playoffs for us. I'll always remember the Ticket Stub, you hitting a buzzer beater then knocking a kid over, and the Shrek and Donkey game, but it seems clear to me that he's going to leave this offseason. Thanks for the memories, Baby.

The buzzer beater against Orlando and the drool moment with Nate Robinson on his back in the '10 Finals are two of my favorite Celtic memories of the past four years.

It's been a fun ride with Glen Davis, but I can't say I'll be sorry to see him in a different uniform.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

I like many of the things that he brings to our team. And I think he's probably a good "team" guy to be around.

That said, I feel it's time to move on. He brings things I don't like too.

Was he really hurt?  That would definitely explain the poor play, especially for a kid that loves the playoffs.  I know he was hurt earlier in the year, but I thought he got over it.

I wish Gllen Davis respected the Celtics by staying in shape and not putting on weight during the season. Sorry, the guy refuses to stay in shape and he is a couple of big macs away from eating himself out of the NBA.

Well a patella tendon strain still bothers me and it was 4 months ago, and im 16 5,'9 200 pounds. Glen is 300 pounds, 6'8, and a pro athlete.
He wasn't close to 100% percent. Not just on the offensive end, very slow rotation wise on D.

I HAVE to believe Baby was injured. There is no way a guy in his contract year, playing as well as he was earlier for us, known as a plump individual as it is, suddenly puts on a lot of weight. I think his injury would limit his ability to do cardio besides playing in games. Now, he should have altered his diet anyway...but that's another issue. I dunno...the obvious weight gain just doesn't make sense otherwise.

Well said, C'sFan336.

With that being said - the Big Fella had better come back.

When he played his role - he was an asset for us. But its become increasingly obvious that he no longer recognizes his limitations and as a result, is rejecting that role.

There's also the question of his attitude - he claimed he didn't know his role earlier in the season, and in the past has claimed he deserved a bigger role. I hate to say it, but he's a locker room cancer waiting to happen.

I just hope Mike Sweetney gives him a call soon and warns him of the danger of eating his way out of the league.

I believe Glen was injured the second half of the season. He got himself in great shape in the offseason, and his bad knees hurt his ability to do cardio.

Was he really hurt?  That would definitely explain the poor play, especially for a kid that loves the playoffs.  I know he was hurt earlier in the year, but I thought he got over it.

Fans thought BBD was missing since January.

Really thought, BBD was playing with an injury, Left Knee Patella Tendon strain.

He played with this injury all of February and it took its toll, he had to sit out a few games in the beginning of March.

After that brief rest, Baby had his best month averaging 13 and 7 on 47% shooting on his usual 28-30 minutes per game.

April came and the team went 3-5, everyone wasn't playing up to par.

Maybe his knee acted up again.

Maybe BBD was worn out too.
