Delonte's played decently the last few games but I don't think anyone who was watching the playoffs would make him a starting pg. At least not a team looking to have a pg run the offense, maybe a team like the Lakers or the Heat.
He started in Cleveland and can start anywhere where they have a swing player who likes to work with the ball a lot. Luckily, he's had an up and down season, so we may be able to keep him, if we're interested.

I said the Heat, very few teams have swing players who work the ball as much as LeBron. Iggy and the Sixers? Any others?

I am fairly sure Baby will be back.

No team is going to throw money at him.

Don't like comments like that on my team. If we can get him out of here for something i am for it. Loved BBD but that comment made me realize a lot about him.

BBD isn't the number 1 priority.  the #1 priority is to either ship out the vets for young players and picks to start the rebuilding OR filling the glaring holes on this team like getting a hardcore rebounder and a scorer that can drive and finish at the basket or at least draw fouls.

If he said this after the loss then he has to go. I do not repeat DO NOT want a player in the celtics that speaks like that. For people who are shocked the signs were there in the beginning of the year when he was complaining about not knowing his role. I am not surprised and no one should he either. He wants to start then let him see if his atrocious play in the playoffs can get him a starting job. Bye Glen hope the door don't hit you when you leave.

  • Rondo = Good
boston needs a 6'9 athletic wing that can shoot

Um . . . that describes Jeff Green.

What they need is a backup big with the size to play at the 4 and the 5 who can rebound and score inside, a guy who can take 10-15 shots a game and take the offensive load off the Big 3 (Rondo needs to look to score more as well).
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

DA should resign him, and then send him to the Twolves or Milwaukee to bury his career
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Glen Davis is good when he plays within his role. He is also a better player than we give him credit for.

He came into the league as a hard working blue collar guy with offensive skills around the basket and a desire to play defense. He was, in essence, a modest big man who came off the bench and was expected to stay a bench player.

I remember he struggled in his first season and a result wasn't given much playing time. But he broke out his 2nd year as he added jump shooting to his repertoire. When KG went out with an injury that sidelined him for the playoffs, like him or not, BBD stepped up. Davis has also become more aggressive since his rookie year by taking charges and being assertive by taking shots.

Unfortunately, his immaturity is too much. And I'm not sure he wants to do the "core" things on the floor anymore like boxing out and playing down on the blocks and generally playing within his role in order to help a team win, even if his individual stats are sacrificed.

I feel like since day 1 Big Baby's entire motivation is to get as much  money as possible. These comments are infuriating because of the way we lost and the way he played. If he wants to start aka get the most money.. bye bye Tractor Traylor Jr.

As for the offseason, I think having an offseason and training camp for not only Jeff Green but also the team and Doc to get used to his game, and find out how best to use him will be huge. It is extremely tough to do late in the season.

As for needs, we need to get a center and pf who can rebound and stay healthy. We need rebounding. Also we need to find another scorer. I wouldnt be against seeing another 2-3-4 brought in who can score. It might be best for this team for Ray to come off the bench next year. It will keep him fresh and add a diffeent dimension to our team, its going to be a very interesting offseason

Glen Davis is going to eat his way out of the league if he is not careful.

In spite of tonight's loss, I think Glen Davis showed a lot of heart and effort. He is definitely a lightning rod on here, which I can understand.

Personally, I would not like to see him leave. There was discussion in a similar thread on here today about Glen's knee injury from back in March (?) that could still be bothering him.

If this is true, then I can attribute THAT to maybe being the reason for him not playing well here lately.

I can also attribute THAT to his seemingly heavier frame. I would think that if a player's knee wasn't right, that would affect his ability to work out.

In any event - I think Glen Davis showed up tonight....I did not watch the postgame, but I saw in a different thread that he made some mention of his role? Even with that, I'd give him a pass.

I'm sure the entire Celtics Team is probably bummed right now, and liable to say things that don't make sense.

Pro athletes dont gain major weight(20+ pounds) due to a knee injury. they maybe gain 5 pounds and will need to get there wind back after. look at any true pro who has major reconstructive knee surgery, they have to stay off that knee for months yet they find a way to not balloon up in weight. when you have access to world class trainers who can teach you things you can do without putting pressure on the knee(swimming anyone?) that will help you stay in shape you have no excuse for not staying in shape.

  • GOT IT!!!
Thanks for the memories Baby (good and bad) but goodbye. It was pretty evident by his play on the court this season he thinks he is better than he really is. I could see him starting on a lottery team but certainly not a contender. Hopefully the C's can sign and trade him.

Well, my hope is that in spite of Glen's somewhat confusing comments after the game tonight he can somehow get back in Boston next year.

My hope is that Danny can get something done that is friendly for the club.

He certainly evokes discussion on here, but  - someone please tell me who will take his place as KG's backup if he leaves?

And who will take over as an emotional leader off the bench for this team? I always looked at Perk and KG (starters) and Glen as filling that role for us.
