  • Rondo = Good
I'm glad to hear it, but I think next year is just gonna be a "bridge year" involving a season long wave goodbye to Ray Ray, KG, and probably Doc.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

"I know you all wanna win, but you gotta do it TOGETHER!"

This would be the first piece of good news regarding the Celtics today.  ;)

However ugly this season ended, I'd love to see this team for another year (with a better/healthier supporting cast, if possible).

This is shocking.  I thought for sure Doc would be the first to leave with KG retiring soon after.

KG isnt leaving 20 mil on the table to retire a year early

KG has more money than god.  A lot of people have speculated that if Doc retires that KG won't want to play for another coach.  If Doc is coming back that would be great IMO.

"I'm a Celtic. I wanna win here again." Brought a tear to my eye as well.

Doc also said he thought we needed to add more pieces, which I think we all agree with.

It was a great presser all around from Coach.

KG's still an all-star. Why would he retire?

Ray also hinted that he would pick up his option and come back so that's another good news.

Doc is well liked by the players, not just by Celtics guys.

I think having a proven coach , that is respected will help rebuild or bring in new stars.

I say thumbs up he stays .

I'm happier than just about everyone if Doc and KG comes back but it was widely rumored that if Doc left that KG wouldn't want to play for another coach.   If Doc stays then great, but KG retiring was a definite possibility if Doc decided to watch his son at Duke next season.

Jamal Crawford will be a free agent , but with dwest probably wouldn't be necessary .

But Crawford is the kind of explosive scorer we need off the bench along with young big men who can defend and rebound. Deandre Jordan would be great if we could trade for him. He is a restricted free agent. Maybe Jeff Green and a pick for Jordan ?

I think this is a pretty clear indication about the plan for next year.  The Celtics ARE NOT blowing it up.

And it's hard to blame them.  The didn't lose this series because of age, as the media will paint it.  They lost it because Rondo was playing with one arm.

Add a healthy Rondo to Games 4 and 5 and the C's are heading back to Boston up 3-2 and potentially closing Miami out on Friday.

And no one would be talking about blowing it up then.

No reason to do it now.
