So again, we did try to play big in the 1st 2 games and it didn't work out.
No, we did not go big.
First of all, the majority of the team played poorly for both games 1 and 2. Second of all, playing big means ACTUALLY TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF BEING BIG. In the first two games, how many times did Jermaine get the ball in the post? How many times did any Celtic big get the ball in the post to try and take advantage of a size mismatch. Thirdly, if you're going to play big or small or whatever, you have to do it for more than a minute or two before abandoning it.
Mike
So Mike, is your problem with Doc actually using our Big men against the Heat defense or is your problem with Doc just matching up with the Heat's small lineup?
Posting up JO is not a good option...it's like posting up BBD, you do it if the match-ups are right.
And I feel more comfortable posting up Baby than JO. JO's game is not posting up anymore (if it ever was his game).
JO with the Big 4, he is the last option on offense.
I think in Game 1, KG was not assertive and we did not go inside at all. KG was looking to pass and play the team friendly, spread the wealth ball.
In Game 2 we tried to get KG going, but he was largely ineffective and inefficient the 1st half. He had one stretch in the 2nd half where he came alive, but it was not enough.
The honest truth though is, our strength is not our big men.
Our big men are our weakness.
