Celtic Pride will remain alive and well for as long as those banners hang in the rafters.

Very proud of this team regardless.

If we could steal a win in Miami, it's only 3 - 2...

Exactly. Both games in MIA have been close.

Do that, and this season is extended longer.

Wait...what?  Neither game in Miami was close

Sure they were..3 or 4 possession is close, to me.

Yep, it was my favorite four years of basketball Ive ever watched.

Seconded.

This team made me love NBA basketball, and I'll never forget them.

That said, the era is now over, and it's time to start building up to the next one.

The 'era' is not over. Big3 are back next year.

The 'era' is over in the sense that they are no longer seriously in the running to win a title.

Most we could hope for next year is to win one, maybe two playoff series.

Funny, after Game 3's emotional win, I had a feeling that that may have been the last great performance we saw from them.  I didn't want to believe it, but the feeling was there, and I think it's what made that game extra emotional for me.

They came so close to pulling Game 4 out despite not having anywhere near the same level of energy they had in Game 3.  The Celts may go down, but they'll go down fighting.

Yup

I still believe that if we can have a better supporting cast, we have a shot next year...c'mon, we are playing with just 2 guys coming from the bench (Delonte and West), since all others (particularly BB) are useless at this point...

Me too. I've lost interest in everything else NBA but my love for this team keeps me watching and helps me put up with the trash that the league is putting out as entertainment of late.

On an aside I really miss Perk because our championship starting 5 are my favorite group ever (too young to remember the original Big 3) and when I watch them now it's a little bittersweet because I always feel someone is missing. I love Rondo but I'll be very sad when he's the only left from this era. But enough of the maudlin stuff. Celtics in 7 ;D

I love this team too, but man it's not fair. It's not fair that everytime this team has or had a chance to win they keep getting sidetracked with injuries. If KG wasn't injured in 09, Perk in 10 and now Rondo this team would be looking for banner 20. I hate this and I hate the fact that they're possibly losing to the heat, a team that tried to follow boston's plan and did in a cocky and arrogant way makes me angry and sad. I just don't care anymore I hope if the Celtics get eliminated either Chicago or Dallas win. I'd rather hear about Dirk winning his first and Rose winning his instead of hearing the lovefest of the heat. Whatever I don't think I even wanna watch game 5  on wednesday, it may break my heart even more.
I thank them for fighting and trying their best to win even with age and injuries on their side.  This team has warriors and champions and I thank them for getting me into basketball and making me more of a basketball fan. It pains me to see players like Rondo who don't show as much emotion tear up it just pains me in the worse way and I hope they can come back to victory if not this series, soon.

Yeah, Game 3 had that "last stand" kind of feel to it, especially with Rondo going down.  It was like when Rondo got injured they kind of knew this was gonna be their last hurrah so they took it to the Heat full force.  You have to admire the effort they brought forth over the last two games.  A really tough way to go out, but at least they didn't fold like the Lakers.

As for the "better supporting cast idea," isn't that what we've been saying for years now?  No matter what Danny tries to do, we always end up with only one or two real contributors in the playoffs off the bench.

Pos - I love the discussion here, but how can you predict that this far out?

Agree. Can't help but feel that we've been robbed of a title or two because of injuries....

I don't want the offseason to come yet. It's too early. We have gotten so used to watching this team that it's hard to believe it could all be over in two days...PLEASE Celtics, keep it going!!

Two playoff series gets you to the ECF, and there are no superteams in the west. It's silly to say that a team that can get that close to the title isn't seriously in the running to win.

Even if we lose, there's something practical that we can take from this series. Jeff Green finally seems to be "getting it" and I still believe he can be a valuable part of the future. I also think a training camp will do him good. And Delonte's definately earned himself another contract. Would love to see him back in a Celtic uniform next year.
