The best guy to give a hard foul to is Bosh. Sending him crashing to the floor all but assures that he'll mentally check out for the rest of the series.

the thing is, he's been playing like he already has checked out, so it wouldn't help us much

I think you guys are looking into this too deeply.
Wade was fine at the post game press conference.
He said he never wants a player to get injured and he respects the Celtics and Rondo.
People keep bringing it up and trying to make some drama out of it but you're just buying into ESPN type BS hype that they love to drum up.

The play was a common attempt to stop Rondo getting to the ball.
Kobe does it, MJ did it, Pippen did it. All smart players and veterans do stuff like this all the time.
It was just unfortunate that Rajon got hurt.
If he got up straight away we wouldn't even be having a discussion on Wade's integrity.

I think that Wade has made it his focus to not let his team be bullied by the Celtics which I actually commend him for. He's put up with our physicality for many seasons and he feels a need to let them know that he won't back down.

Just one of the many psychological battles going on in this series.
ie: KG v Bosh
PP v Lebron
Jeff Green v Lebron
Ray Allen v Wade
Ray Allen vs Jones.

LBJ+Wade vs the big four.

I think we just got a huge edge with Shaq coming back and physically imposing himself against Joel Anthony- huge lift for us as far as team 'toughness' goes once the starters are resting. Shaq kept in Jeff Greens ear all night the other night and kept him fired up.

Can't wait for game 4.

No one is looking too deeply at this. You can decide to commend his behavior but let other people decide how deeply to look into this. Fans can be annoyed and rightly so. Especially since our player got hurt. Even if it's an accident it's just in good taste to act a little less cavalier about it.

I remember when Bynum collapsed Wallace's lung and there were similar comments in his defense then 2 seasons and a couple more "hard fouls" later people are calling for his head. Point is a trend can become a bad habit and Wade has done a few questionable things in this series.

People would still be having this discussion even if Rondo hadn't gotten injured. There's been complaints about Wade's antics since Game 1 haven't they?

And who cares if other players are doing this? Doesn't make it right or less reckless. Besides this is clearly not a common play. I think I've seen just about every steal or deflection Rajon has made and if everyone routinely tried to stop him from getting the ball this way there wouldn't have been any limbs left for him to dislocate this weekend.

So Wade has decided to stop his team from being bullied by becoming the bully himself? Right.

I'm still anti-retaliations even though I'd like to give him a taste of his own medicine. Let's just win. The right way.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

One gets the feeling KG already gave him a wedgy off-camera.

Haha. I was thinking foul LeBron for the same reason. In fact, put a good hard foul on LeBron and tell him to stay out of the lane until he gets Wade in line.

It's sad - I REALY like Dwyane when he came in the league.  He was very humble in a Derrick Rose mold...superstardom has completely changed him

Yeah completely agree...

Crossing my fingers that the same doesnt happen to DRose and Durant.

If Wade has a conscience he'll sabotage himself. It's a tough game, but it is a GAME -- a player shouldn't have to worry about getting maimed or killed. Wade might not be a "dirty player," but that was a dirty play nonetheless. He'll get what's coming to him one way or another.

Wade has been acting like a thug the whole series and it is getting tiresome how he continues to get away with it.  He blasted through Pierce's pick in Game 1, then in Game 3 when Pierce had the audacity to disallow a dunk by fouling hard, Wade dragged him to the ground.  Thanks to the Game 1 ejection, Pierce had to just walk away, but the replays showed Wade's attempt was even greater than the result.  He tried to yank Paul to the ground hard.  Same with the Rondo play.

He has that habit now of "following through" aggressively when he is finishing a play, knowing that he is delivering a bit of extra punishment as the players go to the floor.  He doesn't want to be touched in any way or he reacts in this manner.  He barrels to the hoop, and just expects defenders to get out of the way for him?  He can't handle good, clean, physical play, if someone dares play him hard, he has to resort to this thuggery.  Meanwhile, he gets a free pass from the league and media as one if its darling superstars, how hurt does someone have to get for there to be consequences for this guy?

the funny thing is, when PP hit Wade hard on one of his drives -- nothing dirty, just went up with his hands straight up to prevent the layup -- Wade hit the ground hard and got up all p---ed off.

He can dish it out but he definitely can't take it.  a couple of good clean hard knocks to the floor on his drives will get him thinking twice on his drives.

Here is something Baby Davis can do . Get in the Heats lanes,  Mess up the drives, he can't block nothing above the rim, but he can block the path , and grab the player BEFORE the shot goes up and make em earn every point.

Baby should use his mass and put some body blocks on wade.

I don't know - to me, the replay looked like Wade was taking orders from Sensei Krease:

"Sweep the leg!"

These heat guys are such idiots. According to them, it's ok to take down a player in what they call a basketball play (wade on rondo), but it's not ok to dive for a loose ball (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/truehoop/miamiheat/news/story?id=6024810)

Eh, I am kind of with Wade on this one.  If Rondo hadn't fallen awkwardly, that would be just another foul.  Guys pull each other down all the time, and most of the time its not even a personal foul.  I don't think we can hold it against him that Rondo fell awkwardly on it.

Honestly, I don't think Wade is any more dirty than Pierce or KG.  He is going to do what it takes to win, and that means sometimes being extra physical, but I don't think he ever goes out there trying to injure anyone, just like I don't think KG and Pierce do.

I also really don't think the C's should be retaliating.  Right now, they have the mental edge.  They are not going to win a physical battle with this Heat team, however, mentally, they absolutely have the edge.  At some point, someone on that Heat team is going to cross the line, and if the C's want to win the series, they are going to have to be the smarter team, and not be baited.

Imagine falling down backwards because someone pulls you back.

Now imagine being pulled down backwards with something behind your legs so you can't back up at all. Is there any possible way to *not* fall awkwardly? Try and justify it however you want, but Wade trapped Rondo's legs and pulled him down backwards with enough force to bend his elbow the wrong way when he landed. What if he hadn't stuck his hand out? He would have just taken all that force on his hip, back or head.

Redsarmy.com showed me this one:

I always had so much respect for Dwyane. Guess I was uninformed.
