Our guy Sherrod tweeted a few minutes ago--still a game time decision, but who would actually believe he's not going to play?

Mad respect, Rondo!

Not sure what he's going to be capable of, but just being on the court and not relying solely on Delonte & Arroyo is a relief...

Someone mentioned this last night, but in an odd way this sort of helps the celtics. bear with me here  ;)

Anyway the reasoning went that while obviously a healthy rondo is better, a rondo who is not worrying about his offense as much do to injury and refocusing his energy on moving his feet and being disruptive on defense might be more of a problem for the heat PG's, who certainly looked out matched after the injury last night.

It's a clear silver lining move that doesn't really ring true, but hey, at least he's gonna play :D

It's not a far fetched theory--maybe he'll gamble less on D (it really annoys me that he let's Bibby or Chalmers get around him to go for the steal from behind). Either way, I expect a gutsy effort, another solid game from KG & the Cap, but an offensive explosion from Ray.

This is fantastic. It means we don't need to worry about ligament damage and it call comes down to how well Rajon can take pain.

As they say in Hockey, "Pain is just a state of mind." And after yesterday we know Rondo can tolerate the pain.

No, they said the shoulder is still sore, but he didn't need it. Maybe he should have gotten a routine one on his head though, just to be sure

it will also depend on the amount of swelling which will determine the range of motion, which can severely limit what he can do with that arm

To put the in jury in perspective, I dislocated my ankle a couple months ago and I still have trouble with swelling after 45 minutes or so of activity, but I attribute this to the constant pounding the ankle takes while running. However, I would still be wary of how much he'll be able to move that left arm considering that he will have only had 2 days to try to recover. I hope to god hes been in a constant ice bath and popping ibuprofen.

Didn't he have an MRI on his shoulder?

It was decided he didn't need one...mentioned it in the 'injury update' thread.

i expect the team has given him treatment 24/7 on the arm. i don't think he can get away with playing with just one arm again...miami will trap him like crazy. also, we'd also be playing 4 on 5 on offense if rondo can't really use his left arm. sounds like delonte is doing much better, though, so that's a relief.
