I see a lot of threads tonight for Rondo, KG, and even Doc, (and rightly so), but I think the importance of what Pierce did tonight is being a bit marginalized.

He did an excellent job defending LeBaby and holding him to 15 points, he set the tone for the entire game when he came out attacking in the first quarter, and he was the emotional leader as well, talking to his team-mates and getting the crowd pumped up.

Credit where credit is due, and tonight this was a team effort, and the revitalization of defensive intensity, aggressiveness, Ubuntu, and Celtic Pride.

Whatever happens from this point on, I can not express how proud I am of this team, and how blessed I feel to be a Celtic fan.

I love this team!

Big, big tommy point for that post.  This was an inspirational team win. What a lot of heroes.  I contend that this was one of the single greatest games I've ever seen Paul Pierce play.  Like you pointed out, it wasn't so much the offense, but the D he played on James throughout the game that was simply inspiring.

That guy is the truth!!

How many times has Pierce and the Celtics owned LeBron at the Garden?

Yeah Paul was huge...we needed his A game and he brought it! KG's output was big as well, but Paul's defense on Lebron and his scoring and energy really set the tone!

Let's even this thing up on Monday, Boston!

The Truth!
"If somebody would have told you when he was playing with the Knicks that Nate Robinson was going to change a big time game and he was going to do it mostly because of his defense, somebody would have got slapped."  Mark Jackson

I loved how he kept waiving his arms and pumping up the crowd! Pierce was the man last night. He almost gave me a heart attack when he fell into the cameramen there and appeared to be injured. Thank God he was alright.

It's a great morning to be a Celtic fan!

It really is.  I know it's only one win and we're still behind in this series, but I just can't stop these small, involuntary fist pumps from happening as I go through my morning.  Yes, just yes.

It's so nice to see the team I've grown accustomed to rooting for show up.

I love the Boston Celtics!!
