Because they finally went to him.  A nice pass from Baby to Green in the post and another nice pass from Shaq.  I was tired of seeing him sitting in the corner spotting up for 3s.  This guy is a good post player and attacker of the rim.  Use him that way!  Oh, and he looked great on defense last night!  Could it be that he just needed to learn the defense?  Miami might be in trouble if that's the case and he finally picked it up.

I'll admit that I had written this guy off and decided "the trade" was a huge failure.  But, if Green can just play solid defense againsr LeBron, then that would be a huge success.

bottom line: Jeff Green is our fastest, most athletic front court player.

he has shown flashes all season. his per/36 stats are almost identical to when he was in OKC averaging 16 ppg, meaning his productivity is there but his minutes aren't. he's a starter whose minutes have been cut in half coming off the bench. it's a big adjustment.

he is also one of the few guys on this team that can take the ball directly to the hole and throw it down when he gets out front or gets a step. Paul, Ray and even KG are largely jumpshooters now and when they get to the hoop it's usually a layup, esp. Ray and Paul. this isn't Kansas or UConn anymore with these guys playing above the rim. Pierce has never been the most athletic, what makes him great is his basketball IQ and elusive moves.

Green can throw it down. he posterized Bosh game 2 with an and1 and finished fast breaks well game 3.

he needs to be the first man off the bench for both the 3 and the 4 and if JO and Shaq arent at the 5 Green should be there too during this series.

I thought he played the best overall game as Celtic.  Keeping LBJ contained an't easy.  Its like trying to hold a mad bull on leash. Green was unrelenting on James. My hats off to him.

Pauls rejection of D Wades attempt at a slam early was the heart and energy needed to win a game. Leading by example.

For the Celtics to win, they need to make it clear, driving to the hole will come at a price and that SOMEONE will contest these showboat easy buckets for Wade and James. 

Wade and James can be bricksters at the line at times, C's need to make em earn the baskets, and shoot jump shots

I like Green playing with the big 3 -- and I truly beleive that is the difference here. He plays better when he can roam as 4th option and when he can go all out with energy and not worry about carrying any offensive load. 

Less time for Rondo means more creatiity with lineups.  Also, Big Baby's remarkable disappearance as a player should lead to more opps for Green.

I agree.  Also, he didn't have to be the Lebron James stopper.  We have Paul Pierce for that.

Other than some instances and a game here and there, I think Jeff Green's defense has been really good, even excellent at times, during the playoffs. Doing a much better job on LeBron that I expected that's for sure.
