He has looked phenomenal tonight on defense, with constant energy making it tough on Lebron and Bosh to get anything going to the hoop. This is the most active I have seen him on defense since he has arrived to Boston.

If he can bring this for the rest of the series and just get out and finish on the fast break and hit open J's he could be a huge asset to this team.

I know it's only one game, but I am loving this energy he can bring.

Keep it up Jeff!

Did you see him stand over Bosh and and sorta taunt him after forcing a jumpball? THERE WE GO!

He played very aggressive D tonight which was big, and he also was aggressive offensively. Another contributing factor was that BBD only played 11 minutes. Maybe we ought to create another thread titled “Is Doc Rivers finally getting it?"

Green was a positive factor in the game tonight, especially defensively.

I'd say so!

He's shown flashes, but was huge tonight!

I think he is.  He didn't have the greatest night offensively; however, he defended well and played largely within the offense.

If he gets it, that could be the dagger to Miami.  Maybe he'll never be a superstar, but he's still better than anyone else on Miami but their Big Three, and he's probably our 5th to 7th best player.  If he starts being effective, he can really make Miami pay.

Yeah, loved the attitude as well as his timely cuts to the basket and aggresiveness. The only bad thing was his airball but he was great defensively too on both Jones (not letting him any air to shoot) and James (cutting his penetrations)/

Jeff Green, from what I see, has actually learned how to use his length properly on defense, and is not giving the offensive player too much respect. He's literally pushing up on them aggressively, and is keeping his hands in the passing lanes.

He disrupted a number of things tonight.

How did he not have the greatest night offensively?! He was 2 for 3 from the floor and 2 for 2 from the free throw line. Sure that one missed shot was an airball, but if it had gone in and out instead we’d be singing his praises for how he ran the floor and played aggressively. Let’s not also forget those 2 fourth quarter fouls he drew while sprinting up the floor that while not resulting in him shooting free throws, did get us in the bonus sooner and gave Ray 4 free throws at the end to help seal the win.  I thought he played within himself and was aggressive just like he ought to be. Playing tough D helped as well.

Additionally, I was VERY pleased to see Green get twice as many minutes as BBD.  When BBD was subbed out in the 4th, I started screaming at the TV, thinking Doc was taking Green out and leaving BBD in.  While I would've preferred to see JO come back in, I was still quite pleased that Green stayed in and Baby came out.

And that's not me hating BBD.  I like him.  But I like him in 10-15 mpg backing up KG.  Not in 30 mpg where he jacks 20 footers with two guys on him.

I've said it before but I'm gonna say it again. Jeff Green won't shine with the Big Three. They play slow and Jeff Green needs open lanes to explode. He'll be solid in the playoffs if he keeps this up but I think in the future, Rondo and Wafer will give him what he needs. A high octane offense to pump him up.

That said, I was iffy about Jeff showing up and I'm eating my hat right now. It tastes awful.

He hustled and played defense, and he made his presence felt.  I liked his effort tonight.
